i think its a great truck, its strong and hudge. but you might want a bigger engine cause the top speed is in the 30's..other than that its hudge and strong..

I saw one race two weekends ago. It is not much bigger than a Savage and smaller than a Mammoth. It has a longer wheelbase which makes it stable, but it seemed slow to me, but it handled like a dream. (they kind of go together) If you are into racing, a tight track will be to your advantage.....if you have some long straights, you WILL get passed.

Associated makes good stuff so you can't go wrong there....... sounds like you want it, so you should get it!!!!

it dont need a bigger engine, its geared for all round performance from the factory, if you want it to go faster, gear it up, but i dont see much point, if you wanna go fast, buy a buggy, speed dont win races, handling and drivers win races.

I would say go with a mammoth. they are alot cheaper and faster and the have more power. But if you got the budjet go for it. One of my step dads friends got one and its really nice i would love to have one. The motors idle very well. i have never seen a truck run that good and it was being broken in.

i like the mgt alot better than any of the other mts, exept the lst. the lst is the absolute best mt. if you can wait a little you can get a lst and you wont be disapointed. but if you cant wait the mgt is the next best thing. i agree with drivers and handleing wins races not speed. if the mgt were to race at my lhs it would win (with a capable driver) b/c the straits aren't that long. it has huge jumps right out of the corners and you need axelleration to be able to get good lap times. my friend has the mamouth and i dont like it. it's too ong and big for racing. you want a shorter more nimble car for racing. if i were you i would wait for the lst.
just my .2 cents though so do what you want.

My son and I are both racing MGT's. They handle very well on the track and seem to be geared just right for all around performance at the track.[8D]

I to love with the Monster GT. Out the box I have to say this is the most race ready so far. Most guys at my local track run them with 40 bow ties and they handle pretty good. The truck is very durable and like everyone has mentioned it is geared just right for short technical tracks.

dunno about geared for short tracks, my local track has a straight thats the longest of all the official tracks in the country at the moment, and i cant reach full speed (standard gearing, standard tyres) in second by the time i have to brake for the corner, maybe your tracks are longer than ours?

to post a pic you have to click post reply right after the last post on the left. then on the screen where you type at the bottm left theres a button that say uppload images. click that. then browse and put the pics in you want.to know if your pic is uploaded before you click pk. it will say it has succesfully uploaded or something like that. if it didn't it will come up with a arror saying cannot i always have a problem with how big the file is and have to go in acdsee and save the file as a smaller file (by atleast 40%) and then go back and try to post a pic again.

I have to many rc's when everything has problems I pull out the mgt its all stock and so far extremly reliable, on our tight track I have the fastest lap times with it as well ,even though most of my other trucks are faster

The MGT does seem rather robust in box stock form. It is also a good candidate as a racer as well.

I'm going to chime in here... The MGT was a bit of a let down for me... I expected a lot more power than what is has... I've actually broken more on it the first day I owned it then I ever broke on any of my T-Maxx's... I'm no kid just getting into this hobby, I've been racing off road since most of your parents were still in school.... It's really no quicker or more powerful than my old Pro-15 T-maxx....

Now that I bashed it a bit there are many things I do like... It's an amazingly stable truck... It jumps very well and the chassis is well laid out... I took the stock wheels off and put on a set of Imex Swampers, the diameter is a little smaller but they are wide as hell... The truck is almost impossible to roll over... I hate the stock shocks, but those will go soon enough...

I'm probably going to change the engine this week... For an experienced person it's a bit underpowered...

Dude BUY THIS TRUCK!!!! I bought it yesterday and haven't looked back. I bashed the heck out of it and have not broke anything. It is a dream to work on compared to the Savage. It has alot go to it, lacking the top end compared to other trucks but who needs it unless you like going fast in a straight line (which majority of the time your NOT). The handling is AWESOME and if you are a beginer this truck is easy to break-in, drive & work on. But that is my 2cents

I sold both my savages after I had my MGT for 1 day. This thing handles very well.
I had spent tons of money into 1 of my savages for racing, atleast 1500 including a
new engine. Well the MGT raced better stock than my savage ever did.

Definately go with the MGT.

As for the shock problems?? I have not blown a cap of my shocks yet???
I guess you just have to know how to land those big jumps
