Default Help & Advice - Looking for a NEW MONSTER

- Hi Guys ,

I am new to this . Been on the interent trying to find a RtR Nitro Monster.
I have seen loads but not sure what to buy , my budget is not huge.

I have seen T max, Smartech, Mammoty and Duratec...

Can anyone give me advice on what to buy or what not to buy , and even where to buy on the internet .

Many Thanks

Adrian

I would get a t-maxx. They are very popular trucks and they make alot of aftermarket parts for them. Another good option would be an HPI savage these are also extremely popular with lots of aftermarket support. The t-maxx would be more beginner friendly though.

Hi ,

Thanks for that - the HPI savage looks to be more expensive that the others and I have not seen a RtR with that manufacturer?

But the Mammoth looks a lot faster than the others on the wriet up on this forum

The HPI savage does come in rtr form,
have you looked at the ultimate monster truck guide thread in this forum?
it has plenty of information on all the trucks out there now, and some which havent been released yet.
give us a bit more info on what you want the truck for: bashing(mucking around with) , racing or both
where will you drive it?
what are you looking for in a truck? like speed etc.
and how much US dollars are you willing to spend. i've left a list below of some popular trucks, and why people get them:
CEN MT2: cheap and fast
SAVAGE: durable
T-MAXX: fast racing
Mammoth: faster than them all

but like i said, look at the ultimate monster truck guide for verified specs on the trucks

and yes, ebay is normally cheaper than other places.

well it seems that a CEN MT2 would best suit you, as that's what it is, cheap fun.
however if you push the envelope a bit, you could get an xtm vehicle,
the x-factor or the mammoth (they are 1/8 scal and the cen is 1/10)
the x-factor is an awesome wheely machine, made for rock crawling,
and the mammoth is just big an fast (52mph) the cen is 45mph
the mammoth and x-factor sit at around 365 wheras the cen is like 269
however look at the picture below and you'll see where your extra 100 goes
(the pic is smokinjoes, sorry i couldnt find you to ask for your permission)
the cen is on the left, the mammoth on the right

get a t-maxx,they are bery easy to work on and they arte fast and really eazy adn cheap to hop-up.or get a sport maxx right now they come with reverse and 4WD kit so its basically a t-maxx but $50 cheaper but it has a crappy body.
