Default RCX! Official MT thread (updated 4/24)

Ok, RCX kicks off today, and there are quite a few RCU'ers going (myself included).

I am hoping that everyone that goes will give us a report on what they saw and their opinions on the new products. I think everyone would appreciate getting a 1st hand appraisal of new products and the show itself.

Disclaimer--- Please do not let this thread get off track. If you don't like someone's opinion, PM them or start a new thread on the topic. I think it would be awesome to get everyone's feedback in one spot, and then spawn further threads for discussion.

RCX is going to be a blast, and I would like to share the info with those that can't go! We are going to see the LST, Genesis, REVO and more... take pics, and post em up. If you don't have a pic hosting service, email me the pics, and I will host them for you.

Hopefully by Sunday, this will be a great wrap up of a big event in the RC world.

Regards,

Dale!

Nice one Dale
I really hope CEN has a good showing with the Genesis. It's going to be interesting how it stacks up against the LST. Post some pics of the Genesis with the body if possible. Wish I could be there but it's a long trek from FL.

Thanks

Roy

Hello.....just wanted to drop off some pics of the GENESIS, and mention that the REVO is fragile. Shock system will break DAILY. Lots of cheap plastic. Notice the damage the rotostart causes to the exhaust on the LST. And check out my new Savage ! LOL

I wonder if you could mount those coil over shocks upside down with some spacers or somehow lower, something so as to let the body sit lower. I would probably take those off and with a different body it would look pretty gnarly. Are any of you attendees stoping at the OFNA booth do they have their new Hyper 7 truggy on display? Thanks for the pics and updates.

Well, here's my update and wrap up after visiting RCX today.

It was overall a good event and I enjoyed it. What I didn't understand was, there was a lot of open area in the convention center, especially where the 'hard bodies' display was with the custom H2s and around the robot arena towards the back, and all of the vendor areas were CRAMMED. With all of the people, it got very busy, and I had to leave- I had a stroller and my 2 year old son with me, and it became impossible to navigate. RCX- NEXT YEAR, OPEN THE CONVENTION UP MORE. THERE WAS A TON OF UNUSED SPACE and the people were jammed. I didn't see the Revo up close at all, and I barely got to see the LOSI.

Kade- you were very lucky. I was there first thing this morning, and I barely got to check things out before it got busy. I will have to figure out a way to get to the Vendor day next year!

Anyways, here's my pics-

Boat pond

Genesis 1-

Genesis 2-

The Stadium Maxx is the real deal... IT was on display and being run there... LOVE THAT BODY!!!

Here's my pic for ThermalRD... Know he has been dying for this- LST Red body!!!

That's it for me!!! It was a good event, and hopefully I figure out how to get in on Friday next year.

OK!!! Who got pics of the girls??????? They were all HOOOOTTTT!!! I just didn't get a chance.

There were no more than 40 people besides vendors walking around on Friday.... I was in and out in under 1 and a half hours. Vendors were calling to me to come over and check things out.. LOL. Yes my friend, you MUST find a way to get there on Friday.

My mind is already thinking about the cool stuff they might have next year !!! If I may ask how much was your RB header and pipe? I didnt ask about to many prices when I was there. I was going too bananas over the photo ops......My wife deleted my chick photos. Or we would have some eye candy right now. I might go tomorrow but I don't like big crowds.

It was a big crowd... I think the event turned out bigger then they expected to be honest.

I think they wanted $50 for the pipe, and with a free t-shirt even. That is the cheapest I have heard.

You just aren't reading the "right" threads. I was there for three days of racing. Of course, I did manage to take over 70 photos while I was there and have posted photos on 4x4 FG (Full Scale Savage Photo), F1 racing (my F1, an FG F1 & one of the models holding my F1), The Dream Monster !!!! (Full Scale Savage Photo again), and the bulk of the photos in Gallery TNB at minizracer.com

I also posted a photo of my Kyosho MMT-2 on the offroad display track at the Kyosho booth. Off hand, I can't recall any other threads.

There was a vender with numerous custom painted Mini-T bodies at RCX, but they were all stadium truck type--he had no H1 bodies. Next to him was another guy demo'ing painting techniques and paint.
