we cant tell you, it might have but it also might not have,
has your engine been acting weird?
what can happen is that dirt or sumthin can get in to the carb and you can lose compression,
but i've had my airfilter fall off a couple of times, and theres nothin wrong with it,
it all depends

To be safe, you need to take that puppy apart and clean it. You won't know if something is in there until its too late. If there is nothing in it, then at least you now know how to disassemble and reassemble your engine. If there is something in it you just saved yourself some $$ on a new engine.

Take the entire motor apart. Carb should get sprayed down GENEROUSLY with nitro cleaner, and the engine components i would soak and rinse in denatured alcohol, or SOAK in nitro cleaner. Just be sure to use a cable tie on that filter, really tight next time. We all make mistakes, and this stuff happens.

Just pull your carb and exhaust. Pour some fuel in and shake it up and pour it in a glass. Then turn the flywheel some and pour more fuel in and slosh around some more. If there is no sediment or dirt I wouldn't bother with disassembly.

Were you running in a dirty or dusty environment at the time? How long with no filter? I like the idea of just flushing it with fuel.

OH, if you were runnin on grass for only 10 mins. I would not worry about it at all. make sure your trim on the trans is set high enough for it to idle. check the trottle stop screw so that it does not kill the motor when you hit the brakes. Prime the engine and run it, break-in, take it EASY on it, watch the temp, no full throttle for a few tanks, REMEMBER lean may be faster but try to run as rich as possible without it acting loaded up.

Hansdava, quit bumping your own posts up. People will answer as soon as they can... That is two threads, and you have bumped your threads like 3 times. You need to be patient.

When I say 'bump' your posts up, it's replying to your own post with

.
to get it back to the top. It's unnecessary.

thanks but like i said i tried to started it yesterday and the engine sound weird really weird, i run for about 5 to 10 seconds and then it turned off itself. i think it turned off because it is not broke in yet(i was in the break in proccess when this happened and it did turn off many times), but what i worry about is the fact that the engige sound weird.

Call the tech support number in the manual, and talk to XTM directly. They can walk you through and help you a lot! When you paid for the Mammoth, you also paid for tech support, so take advantage of it!

It will sound wierd in break-in anyway....it is way too rich. Once you break it in you will get an ear for how it should sound.

By WEIRD SOUND, do you mean sounded like it was sputtering (smoke a lot), or sounded real hyper (no smoke) and would die when you rev it up.

Im sorry, but i gotta disagree with some people here. You said you ran for 10 minutes without a filter? Thats a long time. Waay too long in my opinion. The fine sand, and dirt that gets in the motor is what kills it. It basically gets in there, and acts like a sand blaster on the piston and sleeve. Even though you were running in a grass field, you will still pick up alot of dust and debris. Especially since you said it sounded wierd. If you feel experienced enough to do so, take it apart, clean it, seal it, and zip tie the filter on this time. You should try to hook up with someone experienced that lives near you. Ask them to lend a hand.
