Default Genesis critique- leave flames at door gents...

Let's hear critique of how YOU would make the Genesis better... IF you don't like this, and you don't like that...

You're in the driver's seat here. What would YOU DO if you were the chief designer of the Genesis?

No back and forth... This isn't for that. It's for you to express how YOU would have made the Genesis better.

Not unless people make it that way. Not everyone is trying to start a flame war junior.

Fine, people don't like it too much... I am just asking what they would do?! If they envisioned
the 'Genesis', what did they want to do? How is that a fire starter?

I for one, dislike the body. That isn't a surprise. I would have done a throwback body- an old 1971 Chevy K1500 for example. It's different then anything out there and would have set it apart. The current body is amateurish at best.

I would have dumped the 'aftershocks'- added weight with really no benefit

I would take out the shocks between the tower jsut becasue that a little over kill. Also I;m not shure what kindof servos there putting in it but I would say metal gears are a must. The only other thing would be the body even the mammoth body is better than that[].

Overall I think its a good truck I could always take those shocks off and put them on one of my toehr trucks.

Here we go, this is just my opinion so please don't get your panties in a bunch!

1. A better body, the one that comes with it is just plain silly

2. Smaller tires

3. 2 speed transmission, where are you going to use a 3 speed?

4. Are 10 shocks really necessary?

5. Pull start? You've got to be kidding me!

after purchase requirements(imo) could also be done from factory:
remove the "Dimension X 10 Coil-Over system", then see how it rides
upgraded servo, possibly try a dual steering servo
drop the tire size down to a proline 40 series, or something smaller

if anything needs to be done, it'll have to be seen from experience

I agree about the body. That's one of the ugliest bodies I've ever seen, and it was delayed because they were trying to "perfect" it.............HA! I'd hate to see what their first attempt looked like!

I also agree about the shocks. But, in their defense, the design really is quite standard compared to the rest of the market. Until the recent news of the Revo, the LST has been the only other truck to try and do something different with the suspension design.

Other than those things, I think the Genesis looks like a capable MT. I think they did a good job with the design. They used the TVP style chassis that has been proven very durable in the Savage, and they created a new and unique RTR. The only other things I would've changed would be related to durability and performance issues. Since none of us has ever owned or driven one, then who knows what those issues will be.

One more thing, I would've changed the release date.

I would change the .46 to a completly new engine. A .70 4stroke with a cooling head. Possibly one like the rcv engines but designed for a truck with higher rpms and torq.
A standard 3-4 speed transmission all in the box not outside like they did. It wouldn't have a regular clutch system, it would be engaged manually.
And four wheel disk brake system. Each wheel would have a disk brake.
And it wouldn't be a Genesis anymore because I would do so many other changes it would be a totaly new truck. Actually I just want to design a completely new truck.

I think I would just change the body and arrange the electronics and tank in a different way. Also I would have put the third gear in the tranny not outside.

i believe if you remove the x-10 coil over shock front and rear you'll be able to lower the body height, main reason its up so high is those two shocks

ok... things like "in my opinion cen's are all crap" are definately uncalled for and they are off topic...

someone said:

2. Smaller tires

3. 2 speed transmission, where are you going to use a 3 speed?

4. Are 10 shocks really necessary?

and i agree, but the only thing is that if you do this, you will end up with a truckzilla...

Okay first of all who ever started this post is a moron, second, why in the hell would you even change any thing on this truck its great just the way it is. i would never take off the two top shocks that what gives it its great suspension. I would have to say after seeing this truck drive at rcx, that this truck is cerntainly on its way to being one of the best if not the best mt's on the market. it has the best suspension i have ever seen. and it looks like it will never bottom out. i have a video of the genesis at rcx, that i wish i could post but don't have a digital camera.it is WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! better than the cen website video. every thats putting this truck down like THERMAL RD saying that when people buy this truck that they will quickly sell it. JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!!!!!???????? BY THE WAY I ALSO TAPED AND GOT SOME FOOTAGE OF THE LST AND ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS THIS IT NEEDS A STRONGER ENGINE TO GET THAT BIG HUNK OF CAR MOVING OTHER THAT IT BEING GOOD FOR RACING IT DEFINETLY IS NO A BASHER. SINCE I SAW BOTH THE GENESIS AND THE LST I CAN SAY THAT THE GENESIS IS BETTER AND LOOKED AND PREFORMED BETTER.

Yeah I would like to see this footage also,
The Genesis being one of the choices for my new MT.

It looks like a great truck, but then again looks can be deceiving.

Why is Dale a moron. HE asked what would you change on this truck. Maybe he is getting this truck, so he wants to know what to change when he gets it. In fact, i would say that you are a moron for posting that post of nothingness. If you don't like something, don't get involed in things.

If i could change the genis, i would change the body, the two to a one servo steering set up, and make it a lot cheaper.

But i have done too much research on this truck so whatever

For all of you getting this truck, good luck with it.

PS thanks for the help Dale

Ladies and Gentleman: If the name calling does not come to a total and complete stop, this thread will be shut down. If you have something constructive to say that contributes to the thread then by all means post your thoughts, however if you are going to call people names because they have a differing opioion, then sit back and take a chill pill and re think your attitude.
