Default Better body mount system for Mammoth and others

I have seen lots of guys having problems with bending there shock towers when they pancake or crash into things. The best body mount system for ANY r/c is one that does not have or use the tops of the shock towers for mounts, the trick is to have a more independent body mount system away from the shock towers so the shock towers can do there original job better by just being "shock towers".

I use the MRC thunder King nylon body mounts on many of my kits and it turns out they work great on this kit as well. I also put on an extra front bumper on the rear for better protection from tail landings.

The lower part of these mounts that are mounted on the other side of the shock towers mounts are 6mm thick and stiff, I think they maybe a bit to thick, 3mm maybe better because it would offer more movment/flexablity. Most importantly there is a gap/space between the shock towers and body mount system so the body mounts can flex and move in a collision/tail landing/pancake without stressing the shock towers

Hi, that is the front mount that is tipped in and is factory because the chassis has a kick up on it for better suspension/handling performance.

LOL!, it is well known that the NTK is still my favorite POS to run but out of all my other stuff this new MAMMOTH is definatly my second favorite, I am planning on thrashing it this weekend and looking forward to it!. I am thinking this new Mammoth "truck" kit maybe be able to "dethrone" the Thunder King "truck" kit at our TT jump off Monster Jam events.

It is definaltely a decent truck when on the track and for for launching but as stock if u crash it bad enough u are going to be bending things back straight again without bracing but isnt that part of the fun in it wrecking and fixing it better then before . U going to take it to NE this weekend by chance .

yup, I am hoping to go to the n/e park this week end to look things over an get any more ideas of what we need to do for redoing the park this year.

I think with a few mods like what I am trying will go a long way into making this kit a M/J TT contender. It just seems that next to the NTK this MAM will be a excellent M/J event truck. I will know for sure when I beat the pooh out of this thing and see how it holds up with my TT mods.
