I have eliminated 2 trucks which only 2 people voted on cuz they SUCK on the last pole. Those would be the LST and Revo. Now lets really get these last 2 thought about. Both have the same potential but one will requrie less money to get to it's full potential and that is the Genesis.

He is going by how many votes that his other poll got last time. We never know becuz the genesis and lst have not even been released so you will get false info. No one knows how they will be but i suggest you wait for them too both come out. If you cant wait go with the mammoth or savage.

How do you know the genesis is a huge gas hog? it has a 220cc gas tank. That should make it run longer.

The genesis doesnt seem to be a gas hog. 220cc is a huge tank. He will just have to see . The genesis is a huge hog though i know becuz its 17 pounds. 19 inches wide and 25 inches long.

How do you know this?? Have you run a Genesis or do you know somebody that has??
It really annoys me when people just spew statements that they don't know to be true or not [>:]

As for the OP, I would ask what you are going to use the truck for? If you want to race and bash I would go with the savage since right now there are way more hopups avaiable to make the savage a racing truck. If you just want to bash I would wait until the genesis comes out and see how it performes then make my decision.

Its common sense its a gas hog, it has a 4.6 engine or something.. In real life doesnt a v8 use more gas then a v6? Yes it does same in rc.. Plus its heaver, longer, just like mxracer said.. Witch means more gas.

Not true at all, the V6 has to work harder to move the same weight as the V8, at the moment, I traded in my 2002 Mustang GT for a 2004 Jeep Liberty with a set of 20's on it. The Mustang got about 32 MPG on the interstate, the Jeep gets 21. The Jeep has a V6. Point is, no one knows how much gas it will use until we get our hands on one.

as far as the fuel usage it all depends on gearing...the GEN has a three speed and nothing else does...so unless you have run the two trucks side by side and at the same settings (can't do) you can never say one is a hog or not...

i was wondering if anybody out there can figure out the HP to weight ratio.....?

just find a thunder quake and lets all have fun

I would have to see that one before my very own eyes. I have NEVER heard of anyone getting 32 mpg in a GT.

it is possible i know. it just takes alot of parts and chips. i have never seen it but i know its possible if you do that. the best mileage i have seen out of one is like 21 highway or so. and none of my cars even get anywhere near that. lol. they are down in the 14-17 mpg for highway. lol. no mustang GT but they are sports cars/trucks.

yes the V8 would get better mileage in that case thats pointed out by slodsm. the V6 would have to be at higher rpm's which mean that it would be getting worse mileage than a mustang for a mustang to stay at the same speed with a lower rpm. but the mustang also has more power so it have to use less of it and its lighter than the jeep.

for this case i guess i could use my 1969 Dodge Super Bee with a Big V8 compared to a truck such as my 2004 Dodge Ram Rumble Bee edition. well, the car in this case gets worse mileage first off because its got a bigger engine and second off, its gearing isnt as steep as the trucks gearing so it takes more rpm to go the same speed (not the same in accel though. hehe). and both vehicles have about the same weight. the savage only has a 2-speed tranny and the genusis has a 3-speed so it could gear up and stay at a lower rpm (while getting better mileage) to go the same speed as the savage at the max rpm while in second gear.

gettin off topic a little as usual I see. I still want to know why the LST isn't on the list? I'm in the market for a new basher monster truck and as far I can tell it's up to the LST or Genesis? I haven't decided yet because I would really like to see them in person first, prefferably running, especially the Genesis which is a total mystery to me, (I hope the cenracing vids aren't doing it justice). I want to see a pic of one next to a T-maxx with bodies on, or even next to a person for that matter. tough decision...for now.

as far as know the lst is going to be the rbset. im sure its going to have its problems like all rcs but its got alot of good crap on it. as for a v8 vs. a v6. to get 32 mpg out of a v8 mustang is almost impossible. he would have to have it geared so steep that it could go 300 mph in second gear. my jeep rangler with 33 inch tires and a v6 gets around 30 mpg. ofocures it would get better but it has a big wind block on the front.(the window that facing strait up) but i would think..... a .46 would get less mpg than a .21 dont you think. in my airplanes in takes atleast a 300c tank in a .46 to get a 15 minute flight. also plane engines get better mpg, or what ever its called in planes.

Power to weight...
From another board
Chris, if I remember rightly what senvek is saying is that the Revo has 0.0088 hp per ounce (1.26 hp total) whereas the Genesis has 0.018 hp per ounce (4.89 hp). So this would give you...
Genesis - 0.29 hp per pound
Revo - 0.14 hp per pound
Giving the Genesis a fairly large power to weight advantage over the Revo.

I'm back to thinking about the LST. My mind is in pain thinking about all these trucks. Does anyone know the LST hp and Weight to power ratio? I'm not even worried about the Revo. Right now i'm just getting opinions on the Savage, LST, and Genesis. I could start a serious fued and get some real opinions if i wanted to on another thread right now. I noticed there are many people who look but never post. I can see it now........THE GENESIS IS WAY BETTER[8D] THAN THE LST AND SAVAGE PUT TOGETHER!.......that would be a great thread.

Power to Weight ratios are calculated with the formula "weight / HP" and is expressed as "10 to 1"

For the LST, I have read that the weight is 13 lbs and the Mach .26 engine is rated at 2.75 HP so:

LST = 4.73 to 1

Savage is about 11.5 lbs in stock form and Nitro Star 25 engine is rated at 2.5 HP so:

Savage = 4.6 to 1

CEN Genesis is widely believed to be 17 lbs and the new .46 engine is claimed to produce 5 HP so:

Genesis = 3.4 to 1

Traxxas REVO weighs 9.4 lbs and the 2.5R engine is rated at 1.3 HP (I think but please post correct HP if you know differently), so:

REVO = 7.231 to 1

REMEMBER! Like in Golf, the lower number is better. That means you are pushing less weight with each HP. So according to Power to Weight ratios alone then the Genesis wins hands down. But, P/W ratios aren't everything though. Gearing and suspension efficiency and torque have a lot to do with things too.
