In short, there's about nothing you can do besides wait.
Often a company will release an "expert" or "team" version of their truck later. Possibly a Drake edition with all his custom parts on it in a few months as a kit.

It ain't gonna happen for a LONG time, if ever, no matter how much everyone whines. Though you THINK kits would be more profitable than RTRs, I'm pretty sure the opposite is true, especially with a premium RTR setup like the LST.
Built into the $600 price are radios & engines that have a 'value' of probby $300 combined, which is why everyone thinks this truck is a great deal at this price. But the MANUFACTURING COST of those items is probby like $25-40 total.
Take away the radio and engine & there's no way anyone would pay $500-550 for a kit version, unless there are LOTS of hopups. So if you all are meaning "basic kit" (stock parts/no radio/no engine) at a bargain price ($400-500), that will NEVER happen. A Drake-type pro kit with tons of cool hopups is much more plausible, but it'll be expensive, almost as much as the RTR.
