Default Slayden Wins the PROLINE Maxx challenge!!

Im sure you've all heard by now, but Slayden WON the small block class with his Revo at the Proline maxx challenge. The Tamiya TNX came in second driven by Dave Anderson of Tamiya. Check out the proline site for the other results. Take note that Slayden only placed 9th in the Outlaw class with the Revo. Maybe the power to weight ratio just isnt enough to overcome the truggies, and monstrous big blocks on todays MT's.

WOW!!! The SUT really took the Outlaw class? Thats awesome. To be honest, i never understood how the MGT, or the LST ever won ANY race against an SUT. I've driven those demon trucks, they are wicked. Dont get me wrong, i love the other big trucks, but theres no denying the SUT's racing design.

p.s.
I pretty sure Marty's still running the stock engine
All he has really done to the truck is re-oil the diffs and upgraded the radio

I wish when the post results they would mention what brand truck or buggy everyone is running, Not all are sponsored drivers

Find out, it seams lame that Drake would go without planning on running the LST, after all, it's supossed to be the biggest Monster truck race of the year.

Well, i had heard a rumor that he was there with the LST, but could not race it. I dont know why. Look at this picture of him, underneath the table to the left, you'll see the LST in a red body.

Drake raced in the big block A main. He qualified first, finished seventh... Wonder why so far down.

So, why didnt the Revo take the Outlaw class too? Or was the 2.5 just no match for the truggies pounding the track with monster .25 motors? Theres gotta be some video of this race somewhere.

There was something on the maxxtraxxusa board saying that outlaw was right after small block a main and Steve broke something. I guess there was no time to go over the truck before the outlaw race started. They were only 15 min mains though right?
Yea, I hope someone has some vids of it.

Drake did run in unlimited. he broke his LST and grabed another truck and finished the race. Changing trucks in the middle of a main has always been a no no in all the MT races I've run, but I guess since it's the Pro Line race it's OK to have a couple of spares sitting around. Regards Mr. Slaydon in outlaw. He was doing well and his truck broke putting him out for like 7 minutes of a 15 minute main. It's hard to make that much time up no matter how good you are.
Unless Mr. Korn was running a different truck from the one he's been running it's pretty tricked out, or was the last time i saw it. Not trying to take anything away from his win, I'm very glad the MGT and LST looked like the lumbering turds they really are. Those of you that saw the vid of the first official race of the LST saw how it was simply running over anything that got in it's way and i heard the debut of the MGT was more of the same. When you consider the size of these trucks and then consider that the vast majority of tracks they will run on are only 10' wide, it's kind of silly to think of them as race trucks.

I think your right, I just took a closer look at the picture that's not the same truck I've seen before
That looks to be upgraded

GS is already pumping him up
from SG site
Korn unstoppable at Maxx Challenge

Marty Korn dominates the monster truck field at the Proline Maxx Challenge with his Fioroni equipped SUT Pro. Marty took TQ and first place by over a lap, as well as setting the fastest qualifying time for all monster trucks, ahead of team drivers from several top teams, proving the SUT is the truck to beat in all monster truck racing. Complete story later this week...

Wait till Garen gets back from Taiwan for the really big pump up. I sure hope he's bringing a load of Avengers with him.

Looks like the Tamiya TNX will be a good smallblock m/t racer.

The Tamiya website has a nice write up of their venture into MT racing with the TNX. (tamiya.com, usa version) Looks like they were cruising to a 1-2-3 win in small block but 1 and 2 both ran out of gas just before the finish line! That TNX must be a pretty capable truck...
