Dominator/ Fantom .27
Here are a few pictures of my Dom fitted with a Fantom .27 (modified with a roto start backplate).
It used to have an Ofna Picco .26 fitted so I am hoping I will see at least a similar performance level and if as I expect will see an improvement in performance!

Yeah but they do a firkin good job of protecting the engine!!
I keep meaning to cut them down a bit but when testing on tarmac they will eventually get to the right length

I will keep you all updated when I get my Dom working again [&o]
Took it to my local proving ground to get the Fantom .27 broken in. First tank was fine, engine started easily using the roto start a tank full of 25% using the recommended 5 second long full throttle runs. Let the engine cool completely.
In between drove my Ofna MBX R2 with hyper 21 8 port, temperatures hit 350F but kept on going(fantastic engine)
Back to the Dom, full throttle runs again, engine does not go above 250F. All 4 wheels spin on takeoff (spose the ali clutch shoes might have helped?), you can really see and hear the kick when the Dom changes to second gear.
Suddenly while accelerating the Dom does a violent pirouette, drive slowly back and find that the rear diff has died[&o]
So until the diffs get overhauled, filled with proper diff lube and shimmed the Dom/Fantom will be idle!

I have taken the rear diff apart and it is the Diff Planetary Gears that have broken (all the teeth except 3 are missing from the main centre planetary gear!). The spiral bevel gear and pinion are in perfect condition with just a slight polish to the main contact areas.
Good job I had bought a spare set of the planetary gears a while ago as nobody has them in stock and have been told it could be up to 2 weeks till they get any because CML (the UK HO BAO (Ofna) importers) are moving premises [X(]
Towers have them on order but Stormer have them in stock, I wanted to do the front diff as well so I might have to place an order with Stormer.
