the title says it all: How does the T-Maxx compare to other MT's?

it doesnt any more, its outdated, things move on and it needs a major update, unless you buy a truck cos it has 15 gazilion aftermarket parts, in which case its probably the best.

But personally i hate bling vehicles, just shows off how much money the owner can waste. Spend money on improving performance, not looking like some lowlife pimp.

The T-maxx just simply isnt as out dated as they make it seem. Look at the new Tamiya TNX. It has less features than anything on the market. I agree, there are companies bringing out trucks that appear way ahead of the pack, but they still have to be proven. The maxx is still a great buy, especially at 370.

i read a million threads, and saw the t-maxx in action. very disappointing. i just ordered the savage ss along with the roto start. the savage is tough as nails, and pretty quick

t-maxx = lots of plastic...very weak, you must spend lots of $ to get it very durable, so i prefer you only buy one if your gonna hop er up like crazy..[>:]

Well, most of mine is plastic and it is as durable as any other truck out there. And it weighs just over 7 lbs. I love it. Aluminum is for people with other problems.

lol i dont know whether to choose a MT for bashing or a ST. MTs are tougher but with the ST's u get more speed. What does the savage top out at?

You really cant compare the mt 2 with the savage. Its much larger and is a true monster truck.The t-maxx is a touch faster but the savage is way way tougher.I have them both and rarely use the maxx much anymore. My maxx however is pretty hopped up and is now much faster than my savage.The savage will pull like 25 foot jumps and wont break and its basically stock.If you already have an mt2 you know about hpi so I would recommend getting a savage you wont be sorry.

Hi, I collect and have/own most 8scale tuck kits on the market, I have no particular loyalty to any brand. I have been hardcore into 8scale nitro for many years (10-15), I have seen many kits come and go. in todays market I feel one of the BEST RTR kits that seem to have less issues out of the box and seem to be better for "newbies/beginers" and overall offers an excllent "Bang for the Buck" and "Good VALUE for your MONEY" is the HPI Savage which does not need to be upgraded to use .21+ size big block power as does the t maxx kit.

Yes the Savage comes in a kit form.

It comes in kit form as the Savage SS and it also comes in RTR form as the Savage 25.

Shows you say crap before you even know anything about what your saying. Plastic = Tough, lightest, flexibility. Aluminum = Light, sort of tough depending on the thickness ( my father is a welder and has worked with alumium and practically all his life and other metals for a long time) , and alumium bends. And since it bends, BANG, $$$$, there's that 100$ you spent on your car for it too look " bling bling ". Go titanium or RPM plastic. Depending on the type of alumium, and the thickness, i will consider it. Have you bought allu. arms for your tq? If u dont and want too, research it before you buy it. Titanium is by far the best IMHO for rc trucks.

Another example of alu. bending is, look at the mammoth's shock towers. Aluminum, and i have read bad stories on how they bend so easily. The savage has plastic shock towers, and i havent hear anything bad about them.

yeh, i have heard that alluminium bends easily so i am going to replace as many of the mt2's parts as possible with titanium!

It depends on the type of aluminum, and the way is designed. For an instance, take a look at Integy's arm compared to Unlimited Engineering's. UE would outlast Integy any day of the year.

And another think would be an Aluminum skid Vs. Titanium. Aluminum would bend in an instance with a minor fender bender. Plastic would simply snap off.

For the T-Maxx, some places NEED to be aluminum .. Like bulkheads. Want to know why RPM doesn't make bulkheadS? Because the Traxxas design is flawed and prone to breakage, so RPM can't do their lifetime warranty.

Aluminum is good .. Just depends on the place and brand.

hey, with the mt2, i looked on the hpiracing webbie and all i could find in titanium were nuts and bolts.....is that it or is there more titanium parts for the hpi mt2?
