Default savage ss, mammoth, monster gt, or TNX

wsup guys, i'm in da market for a new truck (rite now i got a storm rtr bugg and an xfactor) and i narrowed it down to 4 trucks: the MGT, mammoth, savage SS, and TNX. I had a savage before and i hated it because it was so annoying to work on, but then i had cheap tools and now i have better stuff and should have an easier time, but i was wondering is the SS really hard to put together? cuz i know the tranny is pretty complicated, and does anyone have the TNX, i havent heard anything about it yet.. i know the MGT must be good but i don't know if it's worth the extra money, and what does everyone think of the mammoth?

P.S- i pretty much only bash

I run with all the trucks you have mentiond but ppl can never get enuff of my mammoth it is hella fast and crazy out of the corners, the ss is a good thing to it is a tough truck and is great that you can put it together yourself.
The MGT is almost Mammoth size and turns well out of the box but for me just didnt have the appeal that i was looking for in a MT And the tnx is onr great race truck usualy the fastest on a small track. So that was my .02 hope it helps....IN THE END I SAY MAMMOTH a few miner mods and it is bomb proof.

I would go TNX. Light, crazy fast and bombproof, its a truly awesome MT and makes a great basher or racer. Buy it!

yeah? i was lookin at that today, but how does the .18 move it? because i know the mammoth hauls with the 24-7, but there isn't much u can do to modify it and make it faster (i'd put in an OS RGX for racing because i heard engines over .21 aren't legal), but yeah how does the TNX move with the .18 and can i use a regular aftermarket tuned pipe for it

get the savage ss or the RTR model. The Savage ss is really easy to build, the tranny and diff's are already put together for you so thats not a problem. It also is the strongest truck out there.

they are? i thougth i was gonna have to build the tranny that's why i was reluctant.. that might weigh in on my decision, i still dont kno though, the mammoth is hella fast and the MGT is huge, but then again i need something to do and buildin the SS would be good, plus i get a chance to do the 4 spider mod, fill the diffs with oil, threadlock the setscrew in the tranny, put on heavy duty ballcups, the extended chassis and all the other stuff i wanted to do

How durable is the mammoth. I have heard about the shock towers. But what's the deal with the drive train? Is it tuff enough for any engine out right now with out mods? Also are there any gearing options at this point? Besides that how would you compare it as a racer to a savage and also a savage.

Does he know how to drive the truck. Mine has a fantom 27 and no problems what so ever. I have shimmed the diffs, made my own chassis braces and have not broke a single part. I bash and race it, it is very durable truck if you put a little time into it.

wait for the Team Losi LST, it has a sweet radio (jr) and all kinds of goodies. a radar pic of it doing 44 mph is on the site, but a few mods should get it to 50. it ain't out yet, but its the newest guy on the block, other than the Revo. which the Revo has a few new design ideas and looks really awsome, but losi is the way to go

i have a sport maxx and a mammoth and i know thats not exactly apples to apples but i can tell you the mammoth is so much easyer to maintain and fix any issues that have come up, and the best part for me is that i love those shocks, changed them over to a 30 wt oil and it was the easiest thing i think ive done before at this hobbie!!!! may need to go up in th shock oil though.

Yes shimmed diffs.
Sooner or later your gears will start to slip. From wear and tear.

I have a Terra Crusher for over a year and a half and I love it. It's super durable and with the Fantom FR18 it's nasty. Since the TNX is based on a Terra Crusher - except different motor and tranny - I would go with the TNX. The down side is make sure you can get parts. I don't mind ordering from Tower Hobbies but you may want to check with your local hobby shop if they carry supplies for whichever model you choose.

i read on another site that tamiya has very durable plastic. i guess if it's 4 lbs lighter a .18 would power it enough. whats the stock weight of a savage 25?
