Default Rx/Tx/ EZ-Start Batt. Charging Questions

I know this might/should go in the 'Radio" forum but since it's about more than just radio batts, and there is a lot more activity over here, I'm hoping this is OK!!

I have a Duratrax Intellipulse Digital Peak Charger that I use to charge my 6V 2700mah NiMH Rx pack, 7.2V NiCad stick packs (for EZ Start), and for sets of 8 AA NiMH batts (for the Tx, charged all together in an 8-cell holder).

What charging AMPERAGES are best for these examples?? The paperwork for my Rx pack was kinda vague & aimed mostly at sub-C packs, the Duratrax manual is completely devoid of suggestions.

I don't want to/need to push these batts to thier limits, like the electric car/sub-C guys need to do, nor am I ever usually in a hurry to get them charged quickly.

I just want good performance/"run time" AND I don't wanna damage them. But I've heard that sometimes using too LOW of an amperage is as bad as using too MUCH!!

Any help would be appreciated!!

Basic rules of tumb(s?) thats I've come across:

NiCad's can acept much higher charge/recharge rates than NiMh

NiMh are much more prone to damage from overcharge than NiCads.

CHARGE THEM AT 1/10 RATED AMPs.. So a 2000mA would charge best at .2 A.
1A= 1000 mA.

Heat is your battery's worst enemy.. If your battery is HOT.. You overcharge/discharged it... Oops!!

Hope that helps
