Gotta love Nevada.
Just won 600.00 last night at the casino!
I plan to purchase a Mammoth soon, As it will be FREE!! Basically....
Can anyone tell me why I should not do so...
Or why I should...
My Lhs stocks all the XTM parts I will ever need.
Plus the 50+ speed factor is a bonus!!!!
Any thought's would be appreaciated!!!!!

you could buy 2 savages for that price, or 1 savage with $300 in hop ups, that will whomp up on a mammouth.. Note: not trying to start a flame war.. just my opinion.

you SHOULD buy the mammoth because it is an amzing truck, XTM's warranty is the best hands down, the thruck is just as tough as the savage with a couple of mods (got either the 5mm thick 7071 t6 aluminum shock towers or just fabricate some braces as the stock shock owers are easily bent) and the truck is very raceable. Globl hobby came out with a new clutch bell, it is a 12/17 Tooth instead of the stock 15/19 tooth. Better acceleration but a loss of top speed. there is a great forum dedicated to mammoth owners, www.globalhobby.com

Why to buy the Mammoth:
XTM 24.7 Engine. This is by far the best performing most user friendly engine I have ever dealt with. The XTM 24.7 is a pleasure to start, tune and run.
It's huge! Very big footprint, impossible to roll over in turns due to supple suspension and wide/long stance.
It's fast. The 2 speed rocks and makes the truck torquey off the line and flat out ballistic when it's running wide.
It's extremely easy to work on. The chassis is as big as a dinner platter so everything is spread out. The buggy style drive train is very no frills and easy to work on and trouble shoot.

Before you even run your Mammoth you need to install a brace kit that gives the shock towers support and gives the truck a spine. This accomplishes 3 things:
1. Keeps shock towers from bending
2. Stops diff cases from breaking
3. Stiffens up that big 'ol chassis and makes the truck handle like it's on rails and accelerate like a mother.

Search ebay for "Mammoth Tower Support" or just do a general Mammoth RC search. corvetterick's kit is awesome and can be had for about $35 shipped. It'll pay for itself in diff cases and drive shafts the first time you drive the truck hard. You can fab your own spine but wht bother when a well executed solution is available for so cheap.

Other things I have on mine that enhance the durability:
Carbon Fiber shock towers. They cut a lot of weight to make up for the brace and will flex as needed but not break. A very trick accessory but they are pretty pricey. CF is soooo awesome though

Add another front bumper to the rear. For the few bucks it costs it gives you a rear skid plate and makes the truck survive a major butt plant with no trauma.

Overall this is an awesome truck. I'm very happy with mine. Do check out the Global forums. They have tons of info and a lot of great people.

Enjoy your Mammoth!

You know, the LST is exactly $600.

None of that precious Las Vegas money is wasted, it all goes into the investment of the truck. Whatta' you say?

Went to pick up my wife from work. While waiting for her....I dropped a twenty in a quarter machine....one of those multi-win things.
and after a few spins....645.00!!.....Of course after I hit..I told her I'm buyin a new truck.
"Her response" Go ahead!
I thanked her and told her she could have what is leftover. So looks like she is gettin at least 250.00 out of the deal!!![8D]

Here's a link to the Global Mammoth Gallery:
My truck is halfway down and under the heading "Mr. Furious' Mammoth" (Weird huh?)

http://globalservices.globalhobby.co...92e3302e08c620

The pics are all from when it was pretty and brand new. I did a lot of research and did all of my mods before I ever put a drop of fuel in it. So far it's paid off.

Here's the whole forum:

http://globalservices.globalhobby.co...forum.php?f=10

Also: Do a search for auction #5907366184 on ebay. It's over but you can e-mail him to see about a kit. He's very cool guy.

The mammoth is simply just to big for itsself. it twists and turns its self so much, even with proper bracing, that it tears up $25 diffs every time you go out running.

Have fun rebuilding

I would rather go with a savage or any other monster truck that doesn't have the buggy style chassis. I'm not saying it sucks just that if you want a monster truck buy an actual monster truck not a buggy with monster wheels. It is big and fast but expensive and in my opinion its not an actual monster truck.
Just my opinion.
