To pinch or not to pinch....that is the ?
Hey all! First of all let me say I have been in just about every aspect of rc for many years. Planes, cars, trucks, and now helis'. I've gone through a lot of engines in my time needless to say but on rebuild I always just did the new sleeve, con-rod, and piston deal. I've asked some of the guys around here and they do pretty much the same as me so can't really help me on this one. What I would like to know is if this sleeve pinching really works and just how well does it work. I do understand the concept and that your parts should have normal wear and not damage but before I invest in tools to do this I would really like to hear from some people with some experience at it. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David

Yes it doese work. I got a sleeve pinched and it worked great. I don't have the tools to do it so I sent it to someone that did and they charged me 15 bucks.

they are refering to the piston and sleeve in the engine. pinching the sleeve after it has been worn out to regain compresion. usualy cheaper then buying a new p/s.
