Should I buy a used traxass revo?
I was shopping for a Monster truck today. Me being a newb just doing my shopping and researching. At first I was thinking about Emaxx but then I decided maybe I'll go gas becaue someone was offering to sell me there used REVO for $400 with the radio. I heard he did some mods to it but I don't know what he did: metioned new servos, motor .21...
I'm going to check it out the truck when they give me a call. I know close to nothing about gas powered RC's but they said that I dont need to really worry about breaking it in and the tuning because it's already been done. For the maintenance part I'm going to try to get a friend to help me out with that.
Before I check out the REVO does anyone have any advice? What I should be looking for? Is this a good deal or should I just get a new one myself? I'm a newb so any kind of advice would be really good help me out everyone.
thanks in advance.

I would just get a new one. they aren't that much more and it'll be brand new and nothing will be tampered with.
that is my honest opinion.
especially since you are new to this hobby!

Stock revo is dominating right out of the gates. Getting a 1/8th scale engine for a 1/10th race breed truck would seem pointless. If it were a basher/monstertruck, then I would see the purpose. Only upgrades I would recommend are upgraded electronics such as radio and gear.

does it have a pic? post the pic, maybe we can help you out about if anything is right or wrong.
i would buy a new one. even if it has a .21 and mods.. who knows if the guy has tuned the motor right, you might juet be getting a hammy down motor from one of his other trucks.

Personally, I own both a TNX tamiya and a new Revo which I have not run yet. Based on TNX experience which has been nothing short Of (AWESOME) I would buy it brand new for 379. from ultimate hobbies.com. Free shipping. .18 OS motor electric start. Absolutely a pure pleasure to use tune and run. So simple i could teach a 8 year old how to tune this truck.

I dunno I've been finding alot more info about the Revo... Can't really find much info about the Tamiya TNX probably not looking in the right places. But the suspension design of the Revo attracted me. Is it more looks than function?
what about the T Maxx good truck?
I'm going to try to get some pics of the truck to show you guys want I'm working with... If I can get it down to like 350 I think I might do but it. good idea?
