Default Does Your MGT Wheelie?

Okay, people say that their Monster GT will wheelie, some even say it will wheelie just being stock. How is this? I have a 24.7 pro in mine and it wont even lift the front end off the ground. Something doesnt sound right here, why doesnt mine wheelie? Any help on how I could make it wheelie?
Thanks...

as far as logic tells me (meaning i could be wrong) if you have the suspension set very hard, so the back end doesnt sag down when accellerating, it would make it more likely to wheely, mine almost does from stock and im still in the last stages of breakin it in so its runnin very rich, so i guess if ya stiffen up the suspension on the back end it might wheely, but wouldnt be very good for bashing up curbs and stuff ^^

Don't own an MGT but .........IS it broken in and properly tuned..is the slipper clutch tightened down so you get an immediate launch...??

The suspension is too soft on the MGT to wheelie in stock form. Mine won't even attempt to wheelie.

My stock MGT will wheelie almost at will, never cracking the 230deg mark. Reverse wheelies at will, puts itself right on it's roof if you want. Here is a trick, if it will almost pull the front wheels up, compress the front end through braking and then throttle it wide open and the front end should come up thanks to the extra front end travel and shock rebound. Tough on driveline but oh so fun.

I get an immediate launch, but my tires just roast like a ****', it doesnt pull the front end up, just spins like crazy... Im geared 15/52 with the 24.7 Pro, I have a 46 tooth spur, what would happen if I put that on?

You would lose a little on the bottom in favor of a little on the top...

Mgt is 4wd so its hard to make wheelies. Ek4 is 2wd so it makes wheelies even when you don´t want to.
4wd is the best option for trucks and if you want to make whellies with them you must increase a lot the rear diferencial traction and losen the front.
Suspension should be harder.

Does anybody make a spur gear higher than 52 that would fit on the Monster GT?

errm dont wanna argue but why would 4WD have even the slightest thing to do with wether a car can wheelie? as they accelerate, the front wheels come up off the ground,

and fourwheeler, im surprised a little that your MGT doesnt even attempt to wheelie, im not saying "haha look at me mine wheelie's"
cause mine doesnt wheelie either, but its damn close, even with it running with oil pourin outta the exhaust cause its so rich, as i say im still only just finished breakin it in so im not gonna lean it out for a bit yet, i have however put two of the fat spacers on both the front and rear suspension arms, both sets, maybe its cause of this..

XenX is right...4wd has no matter.

Look at the X-Factor, Mad Force, and EK-4...they are wheelie machines stock...better buy a wheelie bar or they'll flip over backwards alot too!

When I get on it, my front end tries to come up but the suspension immediatley soaks it up, so the wheels dont ever come off the ground. I want my MGT to wheelie.......

i wouldnt worry about the front end too much, its the back end i would concentrate on, when you accelerate does the back end sag down? cause if it does its the rear suspension absorbing the extra pressure/force of the engine pulling up the front, in which case it will never wheelie, stiffen up that back end imo

The back end sags down big time, it has super soft suspension...

Thats why its not wheelieng. Get thicker shock oil and stiffer springs.

My [Savage] suspension is relatively soft, it squats like MAD..... right before it flips over backward...

considering the difference in size, and assuming the savage has the same size engine as the MGT im not at all surprised it wheelies that easy, yeh ur suspension does sag down quite a bit, have you seen the ground clearance of the MGT tho? hehe, i still think stiffening up his rear suspension is the key to him getting it to wheelie, do you have any other suddjestions for him to try maybe?

If he is all about some wheelies and doesn't care for handling or turning quickly then load up the rear suspension like mad, spring spacers, heavy oil, etc. And besides the obvious gearing it down I'm tapped.

I went from a TOKI /Team Infinity27 (a Fantom 27 w/diff carb and head) to this SH28 and it is the biggest difference in the world, it makes the wasp/picco 26s look tame...
I bought my wheelies for $168 shipped It has been the best spent of all of the money I've thrown at the Savage...

I have the red springs on mine, stock oil (40?) and yesterday, in really dry grass so it could get traction, it would wheelie... but barely.

No way a stock MGT with stock springs is going to wheelie.
