But i was waiting for something fast. But hope fully some one here can steer me in the right direction. Im swinging towards the revo. Is that a good choice?

Any truck can beat a Savage SS, it depends who's driving. If I were you I would get another SS minus the engine and get a better engine. It wouldn't be hard to find a faster engine, that is if he has the HPI .25.

i would get a savage, buy a XTM 24/7 pro and swap on the S-25 heat sink...he will not know what hit him...the Savage may not be the fastest or most nimble but it is by far the toughest and most durable, the Savage is just a great all around truck and its a shame you are biased against them....i have gotten alot out of my Savage

HI
Go to a hardware store and get a 20 pound Sledge. That will definitely beat a Savage. Or you could wait for the Duratrax Warhead to come out.

RE: What can beat a Savage SS
Well what depratment are you wanting to beat him in? Racing, tug of war, speed??? OR what?? IMO I would go with an LST. Eventhough they have had their fair share of problems, most of them have been worked out on the newer ones. In these fields I would definately say the LST SHOULD hand the savage its ass in a paper bag. In tug of war you can put it in low and SHOULD be able to pull him around. You SHOULD have him in the speed department. While racing you SHOULD be able to beat him because of the LST's suspension, lower CG, and its better handling.....
If you are wanting something that is very durable then savage is the ticket. Also the savage is a little cheaper, so w/ the money you would save from not buying the LST you could do some mods. BTW I have had a savage and really enjoyed it, and I should have my LST in a couple of weeks and my revo by spring
Although the LST is capable of accomplishing these feats; you first have to be a better driver than him
HOPE this helps

Thanx for the help. I'm still going to have a tough time choosing but i think i might wait for that Duratrax Warhead. It seems as if it has been antisipated for a while. So whats the harm in waiting.

Tug-'o-war says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the strength/pulling power of these trucks.
Unless, that is, they WEIGH EXACTLY THE SAME, have identical tires, & the "rope" is attached at the same point on the trucks (relative to their respective centers of gravity).
A Marder with a .12 could pull a Savage from here to Sasketchewan.

RE: What can beat a Savage SS
How about getting a SS just like his so you can let your driving skills decide? Besides, some folks are like a broken record....always an excuse or always some line of BS no matter how many times you beat them!

Well thats never going to happen...so its safe to say the Savage will win the tug of war with its big block and the T-maxx will win on top end with its lighter weight and higher reving small block.

RE: What can beat a Savage SS
I have a Savage and an LST and there's really no comparison between the two in performance department. The Savage just can't keep up. It can't follow the same trails because of the smaller tires, can't crawl the same hills as the LST with it's ultra low gear and flips over way more than the LST due to the suspension superiority on the LST.
So, if you want to pull him around the yard, then proceed to take him on the drag strip go for an LST. This isn't my opinion but an observation based on my personal accounts of these two trucks.

My savage with a wasp .28 / with a steel spur gear and beefed up differentilas spanks um all. clocked at 74.2 mph with the front end in the air. It's all about control.
