Default TNX Modification Thread

Hey guys, just ordered a Tamiya TNX. These things look great and i cant wait to recieve it. My modifications already include (ordered them with TNX) 40 series velocity rims, 40 series Mashers, Traxxas Big Bore Shocks, 50 weight Oil, and Rc Trix 20% Springs. On my list of future upgrades is...

Venom Failsafe
RX Pack/charger
Hitec 645mg Servo for steering
Hitec 625mg Servo for throttle
Kimbrough Servo Saver, Model #124
Hitec SRX 3-channel FM Radio
New Era Models Center Skid (to add rigidity/prevent stripped spur gears)
New Era Models Stainless Screw kit
Pro-Line Ford F-350 1/8 scale Body

My Questions are...

How does this list look? Is there anything you would add to it or take away from it?

Also, What spare parts should i stock up on?

I'm really looking forward to receiving this awesome truck. Any replies or input would be highly appreciated. Thanks, ScMc

the throttle servo is not nessasary on your list but since your going to hitec i guess it is. you need rechargeable battery packs. normal alkine battery arent going to last more than 5 minutes. your going with stiff suspension...why?

What kind of rechargeable batterys are u talking about? I have rx pack/charger on the list. The reason for the stiff suspension is im going to bash and jump a lot with this truck. What would u suggest in the spring/oil department??

1 thing, how in thw world are u going to fit the center skid on your TNX ? i thought u needed the alu braces to fit it (not sure)

my tnx so far has:

BMI failsafe
Ofna 1400 mah humppack
Hitec 645 for steering (with kimb. servo saver 124)
Stock Steering servo for gas/brake
Traxxas big bores, w/ 60 w oil
Imex Claw dawg tires with savyville rims

i might take the tires off, i reckon its a tad too slow for what i want. Altho they do grip like mad. Hope u have fun with it.

well i shaved off the useless end of the connector, and u could sorta push them together. it wont fit around it, but u can put those connectors together, and sorta keep them together by putting them in the batt box nxt to the humppack. they are pushed together by the box. u can also just buy a connctor for 3 euro, but if this doesnt work, ill do that.

yes you have to modify the spindils a little bit to make them fit, i have done this mod to my tnx, next time i hit the track it seemed faster and smoother operation than before

Hey thanks for the link. Does anyone know a place besides new era or RCXshop that sell front or rear bumpers for the TNX? All the ones I've seen look stupid, i just want something simple like a t-maxx bumper. Thanks

somes things not incaging right, you sure that it dont start up and you think its not started so you press the botton more? well also your clutch springs sound like there worn. simple fix if its that problem, take out the engine and rebuild it.

for the other question, what parts have you broken?, i broke my shock/ bulkhead, usally tamiya parts are cheap this one was 16.19, ill pay for that, but i would like to see that price go down. the main reason was i wasnt running with a body, cuz i was tuning it, and i just happen to take a victory lap and landed on it, sounded the same as when you snap a big tree branch.
