I myself like the E-Maxx better but I'm not sure what is really better because I'm new to this RC stuff.

it all depends what you like, if you like nitro more, then the T-Maxx, if you like eletric more, then the E-Maxx!

e-maxx is much more user friendly, and much higher torque than the t-maxx, but it has a slower top speed. If one is newer to r/c, i would recommend the e-maxx, but if someone has some nitro experience, or wants to start in nitro i would recommend the t-maxx. I would rather personally have a savage, tnx, or mgt over the t-maxx, (all about the same price). One thing about the e-maxx that is cool is brushless setups, they can shell out some crazy speed and torque, it could easily smoke a t-maxx in that respect. The e-maxx for about 500 total can be upgraded to smoke a t-maxx with 500 in upgrades, so performance wise, the e-maxx could be better. All a matter of choice though, if you like nitro or electric.

Other things to consider are the noise. The E-Maxx can run anywhere while the the buzz/whine of the T-Maxx can make your neighbors whine louder. Also after a day of driving the T-Maxx will be coated with fuel/dirt/exhaust that can be all over the wires, electrics and chassis. This can be a mess to clean. The only real advantage to gas is slightly higher top speed (monster trucks are not top speed vehicles but off road thunder bums) and longer runtimes. But the electric has better torque and acceleration which is one of the funnest and mos important aspects of speed. The new 3300 batteries extend the electric run times but after a set of batts the motors must cool for 3 - 6 minutes often under a fan where the T can just keep cruisin. Gas motors can also be finicky and add another layer of skill required for tuning, starting and problem solving etc.

i would get the emaxx but ppl say that after the first few mins it really starts to lose preformence. does the preformence really drop that much after a wile? when does it start to lose preformence? and nitro is messy but it can run for a long time. i just dont know which one. any more ideas to help make my decision?

I don't race my emaxx, just bashing around, so the slight drop in performance as the batteries discharge does not bother me.

GP's and Sanyo's (3300 and above) are the best batteries. My 3000 packs can last me around 20 mins.

The EVX can handle 6 or 7 cell packs, the capacity (3300, 3600 etc) does not matter.

the only reason i want to get a nitro truck is because:

1. i have never had a nitro one, and i love gas things.
2. i absolutely HATE having to recharge my battery thing every 15-20 mins.

thats about it. i would get a t-maxx because if you have problems with it, you have hundreds of people on this forum to help you solve your problem. i think that you will have more fun with it anyway. take time to decide.

So what was the point of using a poll? The E-Maxx clearly won...

nitro isnt that hard once you get used to it and you aggravate a few people here asking a bunch of questions its pretty easy to understand
