RE: Best Monster Truck
I agree with FW. The owner of the MT is the real winner. However, since my early days of RC, the Revo is hands down the best truck i've ever owned. Quality, performance, support, etc... Its just better.

FW, that is probably the best answer I have ever heard. I just asked my son what MT I should get for x-mass and he said get any one you want, they are all fun. They all have good points and bad points.... I've owned many different types over the years and I can honestly say, I don't regret any....

RE: Best Monster Truck
I've had alot of the ones out there T maxx,E maxx,Savage, X factor, Revo and so far for my taste i like the Revo best. The other trucks are good...LST i have heard things about but never owning one i dont want to put my foot in my mouth so i will not comment on it sence it would be hearsay. Anyway out of the box the Revo has been the best truck IMO. But i'd say you cant go wrong with any of the popular trucks out there right now.

RE: Best Monster Truck
TNX, because the drivers that are on top of the Monster racing scene run near-stock ones and win
Also because of the speed, torque, VERY efficient 2-speed with FO, simplistic and very durable design, great OS engine, towerhobbies support, I could go on and on about this truck, it's simply amazing, ask anyone that owns one and they'll tell you the same.

RE: Best Monster Truck
lol, yes. The best engine ever to be put in a RTR monster truck in my opinion.... The stock TNX engine is almost EXACTLY an OS .18 cv-r
It's very fast, super reliable, and can pull mad wheelies and hit 40mph straight outta the box!

XTM MAMMOTH! Extremly fast! Best engine! Very easy to tune! Big truck. A piece of cake to work on. Not bashworthy out of the box. Needs a little bracing. I put a dadders cage and Barnburner arms and I have not broken anything. There is the diff. problem but longer screws and shims are the fix. I believe the Mammoth is more a truggy. And Jeff Guest did win the Colorado State Championship by 22 laps with the XTM Mammoth.

RE: Best Monster Truck
uh no its not
i'd take a .247 over the TNX's O.S. anyday
but to say all MT's out there are more towards certain crowds than others the Revo, LST, Mammoth are all good racers and the Savage is the hands down king of bashing

RE: Best Monster Truck
TNX is very light, fast, strong and great racing truck, but Savage is heavyer, Stronger and better basher... 2 diffrent trucks wich I like best + the Revo.
I've been reading reviews on all of those trucks except for GS Storm Unlimited and XTM Mammouth. After what I've heard, its like this:
HPI Savage 25: Strong, 160cc fuel rank, great HPI .25 engine, great basher and ok racer.
Traxxas T-Maxx: Not very strong stock, very good basher, fast, smaller than other Monster trucks, ok TRX 2.5 engine and good racer.
Traxxas Revo: Strong, fast, great suspension, very good TRX 2.5R racing engine, good basher and great racer.
Tamiya TNX: Very light, strong, fast, big, great O.S. 18 CV-R engine, very good basher and great racer.
Team Losi LST: Strong, fast, big, great Mach .26 engine, very good basher and great racer.
Team Associated Monster GT: Strong, big, tough, great Thunder Tiger .21 engine, great basher and good racer.
I don't know about Storm and Mammouth.

RE: Best Monster Truck
I'd go with the LST. It's eaisy to work on and has good steering, even though it's on the pricey side. As I've heard before,
"THERES NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISAPLACEMENT!!! - GET THE LST". And IMO, almost half the fun of having an rc is working on it (even though the LST is a fairly rough truck). Just keep those things in mind when choosing.

RE: Best Monster Truck
well out of the box the mammoth is an OK basher, but as far as racing it can become a revo-beater with better shocktowers and a little tuning

RE: Best Monster Truck
If you put the same driver behind a mammoth and a revo (or the tnx or the lst) the revo will come out on top. The mammoth just isn't as good a racer.

RE: Best Monster Truck
Balact, I beg you to change that exhaust pipe... It would make the appearence a whole lot better, also i think it's time for an air filter change[X(]
