Electric Monster Trucks.. Which is best?
I know it's going to be another "X" is the best (because I own one) and "Y" is **** thread, isn't it?
I'm just looking for positive feedback about electrics.
I have owned a Super Clodbuster and loved it, I only sold it because a mate wanted to buy it for his son and give it to him for Christmas, so I let it go, and purchased a Losi LST.
Love the Nitro, but want another electric, so I am looking for constructive feedback.
TXT looks awesome, but costs $$660 AUS
S/Clodbuster I have had but will buy again if I don't find a better truck $400 AUS
Twin Force...I know nothing about it, but it looks big and mean.
Help?

RE: Electric Monster Trucks.. Which is best?
I'll say E-maxx all the way. I payed $327 for mine in 2003. There are thousands of mods you can choose from on the E/T-maxxes (parts fit both). My little brother has a Stampede. I'll support the fact that it's bulletproof, but no one makes HARDLY ANY mods for it what-so-ever. I have RPM F&R Chrome Bumpers, Traxxas Big Bore Shocks, and Pro-Line Maxx Mashers mounted on Pro-Line Velocity 6's. So all in all I have spent less than $500 and it's one sweet ride. All of my friends love it (I will never let them drive it though hehe). It was a big improvement from my old Tamiya S10 Stadium Truck and my Tyco Mutator <(which was awesome) that I got in like the 4th grade. Remembe hose old Mutator's ??? Press the button and they could lift up, drop down, or be like a dragster... Wow that was a long time ago. But yeah, I'll say E-maxx definitetly. 3 years old and Magazine's still give it good reviews.

Yah emaxxes are definately sweet, but the stampede is just a cheaper option, they're pretty fun too, I had one a while back.

Just doing a bit of research, and the EMaxx looks awesome! Twin 6 cell packs, Standard 14.4v ESC and interchangabe parts with the Tmaxx, all sound fantastic! Now just to see how badly they want to rip me off in AUS for it, or if I should ship one from USA.

By the time you payed shipping from the U.S. to Aus. you might end up paying the same amount of $. Course I don't know how high the $ is in Aus. is to start off with. In U.S. currency, how much would you really be paying over there ??

I'm just looking into pricing now, but here's an idea of the markup here:
I just purchased an LST here because I wanted knowledge and support at the LHS...he owns an LST and carries all the spares etc, so for this truck I was willing to pay the extra $ (my first Nitro car)
If I had paid full retail in USA+$80 for 4-5 shipping to AUS with teh current exchange rate of $1.30 (Today's rate) it would have cost me $884 AUS (with a reciever pack thrown in on the deal)
The same truck cost me $1125 at my LHS and he threw in 1 litre of 15% fuel, receiver pack, 2300mh transmitter Batteries, 3000mh 6 cell pack for the starter and adaptor leads for my chargetronics charger. He's pretty good to me on fuel and parts etc, but it was still $200 too much....

Although to be fair, he doesn't own the shop, he manages the RC section of a BIG toy store and has to answer to the owner about profits etc, and He's cheaper than the Recommended retail in AUS, and the same price as the online shops after you factor in shipping.

RE: Electric Monster Trucks.. Which is best?
Found the Emaxx on sale at the importer's for $699 with two battery packs.
$299 at Tower Hobbies, plus (I'm guessing) $75 shipping time 1.3 for the exchange rate is $487.50
I think I might take the chance with the warranty on this one and save myself $212 this time...

The e-maxx is a great truck, I had one a little while back and it was really great. Lots of torque and pretty fast. You might also want to check out www.ultimatehobbies.com because they have great prices and may have cheaper shipping charges for international shipments.

I could never imagine paying $1125 for a R/C ANYTHING (no matter what they included)!!! It must be hard to support the hobby over there in Aus... I think the figure you came up with from Tower Hobbies is a pretty reasonable one. I have ordered everything through them, except for some of my mod's.

Minimum wage is $12.50/hr and the average wage is around $54K per year, so all things considered, $1125 fort eh truck isn't outrageous, just about 20% more than it would cost if I imported it myself.
Like I said, it's all relative....now speaking of relatives, I wonder if my Borther in Florida will accept the truck and ship it to me? Better send him an email

RE: Electric Monster Trucks.. Which is best?
Yeah, I'm definitetly going to consider the $12.50 minimum wage !!! It's only like what $5.15 here in the states ??? Last time I checked I think that is what it was. So yeah, the prices are definitetly relative. You could save yourself a lot of $ by ordering from the states. Our retail prices over here are like pocket change to a person with the average income in Aus. ($54,000)... Minimum wage of $12.50 !!! Your gov. should give mine a call....

Balance that out with Government funded health care fro everyone, and it looks reasonable again.
and on and on and on....
Yeah $1125 is still too much [&o]
