RE: What truck will do best in snow?
All of them would have their high points. Both of the Tamiyas are light, the clod is light for the monster that it is, the conversion stampede is definetly light-weight so with a big footprint (if it has E-maxx tires like you say) helps, and an E-maxx has the power to do whatever it wants. All must be waterproofed first. My ultiate vote would be for the E-maxx. 1. Groundclearance and 2. POWER !!

Waterproofing issues aside, doesn't the cold reduce battery life/capacity/runtime a TON???? And does it actually HURT the battery (permenently) as well?
For the $$$ good NiMH packs/cells are selling for, I think you want to answer these questions before diving in!!

I had a Clodzilla IV that I had the most fun of any truck i owned with in the snow. A few simple water proofing steps and your all set. I never had a problem with batt life or the cold damaging them.
Kind'a wish I had that clod back that thing was a blast jumping the big snow banks[8D]

RE: What truck will do best in snow?
Here is my problem with running nitro in the snow:
ABC engines (Aluminum piston, Brass sleve with Chrome plating on the bore) have a taper in the sleeve, due to them not having any piston rings. So, this tolerance between the piston has to be perfect, or else the engine will run very poorly. Because the sleeve expands with heat, when it is freezing outside, the sleeve does not expand as much as it should. Therefore the sleeve is stretched and worn out. It will run great while it is cold, because the taper is fitted to cold temperatures, but once your temperatures warm up the engine will have a horrible loss of compression and you will need to replace the piston/sleeve.
Electric is actually the best for snow if you can waterproof properly because it can handle low temps better than nitro. My vote for best snow car would be the E-maxx or the Clodbuster, due to the most torque, biggest tires, and highest ground clearances. Just make sure that you waterproof everything very carefully, electronic components are not very forgiving when they do get wet. [:'(]
