Default Does a Revo seem like a Truggy?

I'm just curious. I'm pretty new to nitro cars, have a XXX-NT right now. And I'm looking to add another vehicle to my garage. Seen some truggies like the Blazer SST that look pretty cool. They look just about like a Revo, online that is. Let me know what you think.

the normal definition of a "truggy" is that it was a 1/8th buggy that has had bigger tires and a truck body fitted and is then sold as a Monster Truck. The Revo was designed from the ground up as an MT.

Yeah I would not call the Revo a truggy or even remotely based off a truggy.

Truggies have a few things in common:
Center diff & no reverse possible (Revo has a transmission with reverse)
Buggy Suspension set up (Revo uses an innovative catilever system)
Buggy chassis plate, flat (Revo has a special monocoque chassis)

I would never call the Revo or say Savage a Monster truck...because a Monster Truck has solid axles, go ask Big Foot. But the Revo and other current RC Monster trucks fit more as a large Baja racer, unless it is a TXT, TLT, ClodBuster, X-Factor, or MadForce/TwinForce

Binary,
I would disagree that solid axels define a monster truck. I think it is more likely that the engineering difficulties in building a 1:1 Dual wishbone setup on that scale makes a solid axel a much better proposition for full scale monsters.

i had a truggy, it was a kyosho usa 1 nitro, the thing was almost exactly like the origonal inferno (a 1/8 scale buggy with monster truck tires and a body), so you are classifying all non-solid axle trucks, the hundreds of them, as truggys?

This is pretty interesting! I was just curious about it all because I know you can't race a truggy in the MT class but they "seemed" to look like a Revo. I'm looking for a Revo right now in fact... Wouldn't mind one that needs some work, like an engine. : )

if bigfoots owner built a 1:1 truck with 6' wheels, 3000bhp V8 and independant suspension - would it still be a Monster Truck?

Well using that idea, that technology just ins't there so let's lie about the real name. A boat could be called a Submarine that just isn't capable of completely submersing right?
