Full "C" cells are still bigger than the typical sub C we all use.Ask him directly if they will fit in your pede with no mods

I seriously doubt that pack is sub-c. Browse the internet and see if you can find any sub-c cell that is 5000mah. I didn't see anything over 3300 at a site I buy bats from.

I wouldn't use them personally. Talk about serious strain on your drivetrain.

No more strain, same number of volts applied, they would just run a LOT longer.

Well he is lying.
5000MAH is only available as full D cell batteries right now.
GP is the leader in cell Amperage, and so far they have only gotten 3600MAH out of a sub-c. The guy is a flat out liar.
The funniest and most proving part of the lie is he claims they are NiCAD cells, if you know anything about batteries you know NiCAD's have peaked at 2100MAH, thats why we use NiMH because there is more amperage.

If you look at the dimesions it is clear they are not sub-c's. There are 5000mah d cells no sub-c's.The voltage is the same as any 6 cell pack as already stated in the earlier response. The pede will not go faster. Volts create speed and current create power but the car can only draw a limitred amount of power depending on its aramature wind.

RE: OMG!! 5000mah <7.2>volts battery. $44.99
It's been several years since I ran electric and when I first started, 1800 mah packs were pretty much standard with 2000 being used by the real hotrods. I used both and like you say the only real advantage of the 2000 over the 1800 was more run time. Then along came the 2400 packs and of course I started running them, but when I did my buggy would come off the track much hotter after a 5 min heat running 2400 cells than it did running 1800 or 2000 packs. Of course these were all NiCd packs. I got out of electric before the NiMH cells came along so I don't know if they are different in that respect than NiCd's, but my experience with higher current cells was that they produce more heat.

I just measured some D cell batts that were lying around at work..... If you look at the specs as thopper wrote, they are D cells... Won't fit anything I own...... Longer run time only... No faster speeds, acceleration gains.... Only more weight.... Whoever told you they were sub-c was either lying or doesn't know what a sub c is.......

Regardless of who's lying and who's not the battery in the 1st post as well as the cell right above mine are "D" cell .
Much too large to use in the typical stock R/C battery compartment unless of course you're running a radio shack car that takes "D" cells [&:]

I was scrounging around looking to see what was available on the net (prodded by this post) and found 4500Mah C cells (not c sub)
Still not small enough for RC, but getting closer

My post wasn't really directed at you youngster no need to get excited
Some people do have radio shack cars though (not sure why [&:]) and those would be perfect for them.
