Default Trouble with the spur on my TNX.

I installed a cvrx on my TNX and it keeps chewing up the spur gear.I bought four in two weeks.I don't know if i'm overtighten' them.I even bought the Terra Crusher gears because they are supposed to be better.I know guys with TM's on their TNX and they aren't having this trouble.I'm just seeking advice if anyone can help it will be appreciated. Thanks

99% of all spur gear failures are due to improper gear alignment and mesh.

True, but if the three engine mount bolts are the least bit loose, the bolt holes will allow for a small amount of side-to-side movement. It doesn't take much to strip a spur.

I own a TNX and want to get the Terra Crusher spur gear...anyone know the part # on Tower Hobbies? I looked on Tamiyausa.com and I think the spur gear is part #50960 but i don't see it on Tower. I'm 'bout to place an order and would like to get this in so ASAP would be much appreciated. Thanks

That is the only way you can get that spur gear. Even though the gear mesh isn't really adjustable there is enough play in it to set the mesh right. Set a piece of paper between the gears, set the mesh, pull out paper. It should look like a set of stairs without any tears in it..
