Service is also blah...BUT it's great.

I mean they do not follow up on the order and send you a tracking number, but I've bought alot of things from them and only am pleased with them.

Prices are great and the site and tracking email are lacking, but whatever keeps the costs down is good.

That place is only 5 minutes from my house, I'm more than happy to beat some ass if they ship you a box of wood. I'll let you know what I think of it when I stop in tomorrow, I didn't even know that place was there...It looks like it's in a shopping mall anyway.

LOL... i work close to ultimate and i'm there all the time. if someone sent out a piece of wood i can probably guess who that would be but anywayz... they're a great group of guys and gals and they've akways gone out of they're way to make me a happycustomer. one of the guys over there ports my sleeves for free and another guy airbrushes all my new bodies for free too. they put hobby people to shame.

I buy everything from them and I have the pleasure of living only 10 mins away. The only problem I have is when I walk in the store, I have to put on Blinders so I only buy what I came for. They have soo many nice "things" that my wallet just can't afford them. [:@]

I hate you all. **envies**

My hobby shop is...well, it's alright. If you have a Savage, Revo or T-Maxx.

I guess when my Mad Force breaks, I'll start checking them as well as Tower.

Excellent customer service, excellent prices, huge inventory, free shipping on $50 or more. What could be better. I have orderd from them at least half a dozen times. Only one downside, they will not give you the tracking number of your order. So I never ask anymore. I would buy from them again and again.

How long did it take for your trucks to arrive? I'm trying to get a Revo by next weekend and I'm debating wether I should go to my LHS and pay $469 plus tax, or Try to get it from ultimate for $439 shipped.

I can't speak for everyone, but I would rather spend the $30 to support a local shop. If they go out of business there will be noe emergency room for the R/Cs.

Well, the difference is more like $60 with tax on the Revo, and my hobbyshop gets enough support. Besides, I already bought my T-Maxx from him and replaced many parts from racing on their track. $60 is alot to someone without alot of money, thats 2 gallons of fuel or some new tires to me.
I just called ultimate anyways and he said I should get my truck either next Thurs. or Fri. they seemed very nice on the telephone.

Emergency room... LOL My LHS is more like a plastic surgeon. Walk in there looking for CA glue & they try to talk you into buying a whole new R/C along with a supercharger, 2 synthesized radios, 7 battery packs so you never have a dead one, & preorder an engine that doesn't exist. I still can't figure out what the "5.0" is but it's "baaaaaad". lol

Default RE: Have you purchased from www.ultimatehobbies.com?

I prefer buying off the Internet. Buying from a LHS is a romantic notion, but the ones near me can't compete with the Internet prices and don't have near the selection. I don't see why I need to pay a $30/$60/$100 premium on RC cars, just to finance their poor business model and sorry business practices. They are a big hobby store, but they have a bunch of slackers working there that couldn't care less about the customers. Life is too short to try to keep them on life support - especially when they don't even try themselves.

Ultimatehobbies has been great to deal with.
