a carbonfiber roll cage seems kinda pointless to me, it MIGHT do the job in a high speed rollover, but the second you land on ur top offa jump the things gonna snap, CF isnt made for extremly high stress jobs its made to be lightweight and stiff

thats a huge ***. it will protect your savage from one good crash and thats it. it will be useless after that.

yup. total waste of money. It just looks cool, thats about it. ALTHOUGH, if you strictly race, it may not be too bad. If you only roll over on to the roof and slide, as opposed to actually landing on your roof, it probably wouldn't break. It would help keep the body from collapsing in. But in my opinion, more of a waste of money then anything.

I think I agree with Thumpin - basicly a waste of money, but it *might* have value to a comitted racer - but you kinda have to think that a hardcore racer would just see it as dead weight - so therefore it is just a waste of money again...

besides it fits a Savage, which isnt exactly a track weapon anyway....... and the CF cage isnt up to bashing.... Shelf queen with lots of CF? - shelf queens are a waste of cash too... its a waste.

shame though it looks like they did a good job putting the thing together

Here's the thing about Carbon Fiber. It's a hell of a lot stronger than metal, assuming the load goes on as expected. Problem is, it's very brittle, was it only has a slight bit of give to it.

It all depends on the design. If it can take a very strong concentrated force (say a large jump, and you land upside down on a curb) and not bend enough to get out of shape, it'd work great. However, if it bends just a bit, it'll shatter like glass. Show me a video of a guy swinging a bat at it. If it'll stand up to that, it'd be great.

Still, A 12 pound truck? You would probably have to get it run over by a semi or something to break. You'd have to get an extreme amount of air and land on the top of your truck to break it. I'm getting one.
