Default tuning on stand?

i have used a stand for my stadium trucks, just for general wrench turning.
i just bought this stand for my Monster GT:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1
i can use it for several different things, so i'm happy anyway, but this guy claims he tuned it on the stand. it has a pin that goes into the chasis that stops it from moving while running at high speeds.
is that bad for the engine, running it under completely no stress. i remember reading somewhere that it wasn't good for any nitro vehicle. i would love to be able to warm it up, adjust shift points, brakes, etc... all on my deck this guys has great feedback for this stand he fabricated.

yes it is very bad for the engine to be turning with no load (stress) on the drivetrain and if he were to tu8ne it on the stand it would be a totally different tune than when the truck is on the ground. i dont believe that he is on about tuning the truck on the stand i think he means tuning suspension and such on the work bench. he is only stating that he has revved the truck on the stand and it doesnt move which i highly doubt as no truck is 100% equal in weight on all corners, but still make a good lift fior the truck to wrench on

You can tune a car off the ground on a starter box or block of wood, just make sure to turn the needles about 1/4 turn rich after you get it screamin... works for me all the time...

I know for planes they just give it full throttle and tune it until it gets the most rpms then turn it alittle rich... I don't know if you can do that for a car tho.

If you want to tune on a stand, you need something like this.
