How good are the reverses of the monster trucks? (vibrations etc)
Hi!
Have some reverse questions here:
1/ Which truck does have the smoothest reverse? (ex: no vibrations when going from forward to reverse etc).
2/ Which trucks have the most limited reverse feature? (ex: you must completely stop the vehicle before being able to rock backwards etc).
3/ Is the reverse of the LST good? (vibrations?, can you reverse when the car still moving?)
I think I will buy that truck so I'm very interested.
Also, how is the reverse of the cen genesis limited edition?
Thank you guys I think this thread will be quite interesting for some people having had previous disastrous results with a reverse feature (The reverse of the Kyosho Baja Beetle for example was so poor that the whole car vibrated and seemed to fall apart when going from forward to reverse).
stay cool and stay clean

the mgt imo is very smooth from forward to reverse. it has a safety feature built in so that when your gettin up to speed, its imposiible to shift, you have to slow down to almost a complete stop to shift from forward to reverse.

the reverse in the Revo sucks i lost that the second week i had the truck, the reverse in the mgt sucks too if id land hard off a jump it would throw it into reverse making me very upset or you would have to sit there and push the button 5 times before it would go in!, the reverse in my lst was ok. havent had any probs with my Savage yet, but IMO you should stop all trucks before putting them in reverse.

thats strange proxpilot, ive never had that happen to my mgt and i jump it alot, although i did have to push the shift button numerous times like you say for it to shift. i even checked my forward/reverse linkage and it was fine. it did this since i bought the truck though.

Thr reverse feature on my MGT has performed flawlessly so far...
It will shift when the truch is stationary, or travelling at VERY low speed. From my experience it will not shift into reverse when travelling at speed (not sure why "Doctorducttape" had a problem then, as it should not have shifted)
The reverse function is that smooth, that on gravel i can perform a 180 degree spin by reversing at speed, turning, slamming on the brakes, changing into forward gear then gunning the throttle. Takes a bit of practice to get it right, but i think it is a testament to the forward/reverse feature.
I have read a lot of threads complaining about the forward/reverse feature on other trucks, but this feature on the MGT/MT-A4 seems to perform very reliably.

The majority of todays monsters have really nice working reverse mechanisms. NONE of them should ever be hammered into reverse while moving. The reverse on the LST has always worked great for me, as well as my genesis LE.

Why hasen't anybody talked about the revo. you can throw it into reverse at any speed and it won't even try to shift until you stop.
You can't even tell when it shifts until you hit the gas. I haven't had any problems with it at all.

give it time, the reverse is the biggest weak point on the revo IMO.
