Default HPI Savage SS 4.6 Big Twin?

I have a HPI Savage SS 4.6 monstertruck, it has (as if you didn't know already) a Nitro Star K4.6 engine. The Hot Bodies Big Twin kit has dual .26 engines. If I buy another K4.6 engine, is it possible to run the kit with dual K4.6 engines?

I've seen some mods that looks nice with this power, like drag wheels.

I hope someone can help me with this.

'should' or 'will'? I need to know for sure before I buy it. No offence.

welp, i guess there is only one way of finding..of and btw, your going to need to drill and tap new holes for a diff motor
(or at least i would assume so).

So it's not really a good idea if you don't really know what you're doing? Because tapping new drill holes seems a little difficult. Not that I can't do it, but i'm still affraid of screwing up. And it's allot of money to waste if it goes wrong.

What if it isn't? Then it won't fit.

No offence, dude. But I need to be 110% sure that it will fit. It's allot of money we're talking about here.

if in rc car driver, they took another truck w/dual 26's and put in dual 30's, the k4.6 seems like no prob. i say get the kit, get the engine, and try it, if they dont work, which i think they will, sellt he enxtra engine on ebay. thatll work

Even if I can't get it right, I have a very helpfull RC shop about 5 blocks away. And he knowns quite allot about RC cars and how to fine-tune them. And it's free, most of the time.

I don't know what your experience level is, but a twin kit is something only someone with a fair bit of experience should take on. A single nitro motor can provide enough frustration to satisfy most moderately experienced hobbyists. Double motors means double your frustration.

Honestly, a single K4.6 has tons of power. Almost more than you can put to the ground. Twin engines are going to be overkill, unless you're planning on towing yourself in a wagon.

You'll still have to gear up if you want more speed (which you could do with a single engine). Your drivetrain is going to feel the strain as well. That extra power might just find the weak spots and start shredding things. I know my hardened tranny outdrives are starting to get notched from the power of the 4.6. I suspect they'd be toast already if I had 2 running in synch.

If you believe you're up to the challenge, and realize that the positive effects will be hard to use (putting power to the ground) and that the negative effects may be great (frustration, drivetrain), then go for it. It would have tons of coolness points. It would probably sound great to have the 2 k4.6's singing in unison too.

Hello Rob,
For that kit you can use two k4.6.

Subject: Savaga 4.6 Big Twin?

I have a HPI Savage SS 4.6 with a Nitro Star K4.6 engine. I want to get
the Big Twin kit for my Savage but I was wondering;

Can I buy an extra K4.6 engine and mount two of them instead of the
stock .26 engines that come with the kit?
--
Greetings,

Rob
So yes, I can use the K4.6 engine on that kit.

I've been driving a MT2 for about 1 and a half years so I know quite allot about nitro-powered cars. I'm willing to spend time and money in re-inforcing the body and drivetrain of the SS truck so it won't have any trouble with that extra power. Maybe a wheelie-bar or somehting would be cool. Because i'm sure it will wheelie like crazy.

Thanks.
