RE: DONT GET PISSED AT ME FOR MAKING ANOTHER TRUCK THREAD, BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
LOL... I've heard reports of 37mph ? Can anyone prove or disprove it? The regular MGT does 32.
If you're going to buy one... they seem like really great trucks (my bashing buddy has one... ) but they're not as strong as some of the others (LST, Revo, Savage)... and unfortunately, they didn't fix all the problems in the 4.60SE version, either.... but it seems like a great truck...

Thanks, right now I dont even care for speed anymore becuase it is harder to find a truck that way. I still want a fast moving truck but not put, put, put. Thanks.

RE: DONT GET PISSED AT ME FOR MAKING ANOTHER TRUCK THREAD, BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
I have a mgt. Its is a suoer tough truck. i have done some crazy things with mine. Jump from a house roof to the next house and I missed twice no damage. I use it moslty for racing but when I first got it. I bahsed the leaving crap out of it. I only broke a lower a arm and I did some very crazy stuff. So I say get it the diffs are great the whole truck is great and it is as tough or tougher then most trucks out there on the market.

I say get it. it is pretty cheap. The truck is nice and solid. it is pretty fast as well out of the box. If you port the pistona nd sleeve you can get a couple more rpms out of the motor. the 28 has a crap load of torque but not alot of top speed.

Again... from the relatively small experience I've had with it... but taking it from the owner... RPM A-arms, and better shocks... (they seem to have not fixed the shocks on the MGT 4.6... ) I will recommend to you the same thing I recommend to a new Revo owner... don't worry about hopups, or spare parts until you have the truck, and experience it. Other than the trucks that have standard problems... everyone has different problems with different trucks... the things I would suggest for a Revo may be different than someone else.. and vice versa. I have been really impressed by the MGT... it's not as fast as my Revo, but... it can bash...

RE: DONT GET PISSED AT ME FOR MAKING ANOTHER TRUCK THREAD, BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
Thanks REVOFAMILY, sorry about all the trouble I caused you and many other members. I know I was talking about earlier that I dont care about speed anymore, but the MGT isn't the fastest out there, so what engine would you recommend to make it more powerful and faster at the same time? I am hoping to at least get it to 45mph. I know you said dont worry about hop ups now, but just for later references, what engine would you recommend? Thanks

Good luck. I know some one with a high dollar motors and he has a mgt. His gearing is 54/18 and he is running 40 series bowties. He has a 500 dollar nova rossis he has a rossis he has so many motors it isnt even funny and the fastest he has got it was 43. something and his temps were 232. the mgt isnt made for all kinds of speed It is meant for winning.

A good driver with my Revo vs. your MGT... I highly doubt it.

I am hoping to do a couple races with it. What engine would give me both power and speed? I hope to at least get it to 45mph.

RE: THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
ilikenitrorccars the MGt isnt a speed beast. The fastest most go with 54/18 gearing and a 350 dollar motor is 37 mph. My frined has the sirio 27 racer in his and that is all he got out of it. the mgt want go over 45 probably.
REVOFAMILY I dont know about the good driver vs me. I get some pretty good lap times in with my mgt.

RE: THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
40 is possible. still is hard but possible. You need a high dollar motor. I have a 24.7 pro with 54/18 gearing and 40 series bowties witha motor that spins 31000rpm. I get a top speed of 35 mph

RE: DONT GET PISSED AT ME FOR MAKING ANOTHER TRUCK THREAD, BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
In the recent RCCA writeup that people are talkin' bout...it was clocked @ 36 or 37mph.
BUT...the review went out of his way to say that that was due to the fact that the gearing was IDENTICAL to the older one & that changing it would easily get it to the 40+ range that people always seem to want. And since it's such a more powerful engine, this change will not create a crawl-starting torque-wimp...it would still have as much off-line oomph as anything out there.
I like this truck...what I've seen in person at least. Strong and now, powerful enough...and a whole lot less $$ than the LST or Revo.

So, Deandome, your saying that I can get the MGT 4.60 SE to do 40mph by just changing the gearing, and not doing any hop ups?

RE: DONT GET PISSED AT ME FOR MAKING ANOTHER TRUCK THREAD, BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
if you want faster speeds different gearing and do the forward only setup and you will get over 40mph run 30% nitro if you really want to see what that engine can do.

RE: THIS IS ABOUT THE MGT
and also only real hop ups this truck needs is rpm arms and nuckles the shocks held up real well for me for a long time before i changed them
