Pull start isnt pulling

Default Pull start isnt pulling

i just installed a new pullstart on an old engine i can yankit a few times bu then it slips and when i pull on it, it isnt grabbing on anything, im thinking it is the one way bearing, but it is nto dirty or anyhting

Try spraying nitroclean or WD40 on the one-way, this should help, but I suggest a new one-way. I've seen this many times and the nitroclean will only last so long before oil from the engine leak back into it and slip again.

thanks man i will the nitro cleaner but in the end i will probably just buy a new one way

its bull hwo much a little one way bearing costs, try cleaning it out really good and sanding the shaft very very lightly, if you do this it should work like new again, mine went out about half a gallon ago and all i did was clean it, i can start it in the freking cold and it only slips a little bit but it still works fine

use 600 grit or higher when sanding the shaft.

dump the one-way in some b-12, or some other solvent. put both in a container, seal it, and shake it for a while. Dump out solvent full of dirt and crud, and pour some more solvent in the container. repeat another 2 times, or until no more crud comes out of the one-way. re-assemble, and tell us if it works. also pour some of the clean solvent on the shaft, and clean the shaft
