Always down the carby. I found that glow plug washers leak if they are tightened down to many times. I bought some extra washers, but still just put 4-5 drops down the carby and hit the roto-start quickly.

Carb.
IMO, there's too much risk of dropping crap down the glow plug hole. Also, oil in the plug hole tends to go right out the exhaust, which does the bearings no good at all. Putting it in the carb causes the oil to vaporize, coating all the internals.
Anyway, that's my reasoning.

I pop off the Air filter, open throttle, put 2 drops in and put like 3in the piston.

I put it in the glow plug hole, gives me a chance to inspect the plug and look down inside for anything going funky. Ususally 6-8 drops and crank it over a couple times. Occasionally i drop some into the carb not as often though.
