I've about heard it all when it comes to engine break in procedures. Some say follow the book or manual, many say heat cycle your engine.

Can use use the heat cycle method on all engines or are you putting your engine at risk. I have bought the nitro tuning guide dvd and the ultimate engine tuning guide from rc car action.

I Use this Method on All My Engines,

I use the rbmods method and it works great and only takes about 3 hours in the summer heat!

I subscribe to the heat cycle method. If you understand why it works, then you'll be sold as well.

If you are not going to get the engine up to operating temp during the breakin then you might as well save the fuel and remove the glo plug, add a few drops of oil and spin it over with a drill. That will wear the pinch out of the top quicker and cause about the same amount of damage to the conrod as breaking it in at idle.
