RE: Official Savage X thread...
Anyone have a reccomendation on a servo upgrade for the X? Im not liking the braking system on it, it is not as tight as it should be and Ive heard a nice servo would help. What do you guys suggest?

I use a Futaba 3010 on the throttle/brake and a Hitec 645 on steering. Both work great.
The brakes on this truck are great, if you have a strong enough servo to pull them.

i'm still workin on the truck, LOL.
workin 84 hours a week cuts into your playtime:| i've got a Futaba R153F RX (for my 3pm radio), an airtronics 94162 servo, THS pipe, Ofna aluminum clutch shoes, proline bowties and some neato wheels (that i like, FU abu, lol) and that's really about it.
oh, and a proline '70 F100 body, too. with a barely used mach .26 comin this week from an RCU member
*EDIT*
forgot the all important hump pack, too, LOL.

Those stock bodies are friggen sweet- can't wait to see a custom painted Savage X body. CEN could sure use training from HPI on how to make a decent RTR truck body.

Guys, there are like 5 Savage X threads, and I want to consolidate everyone down into one. (Plus I don't want to keep following 5 to see what others are saying.)
Here is the scoop- HPI has again revised the Savage and it will be available in February! This is enough to be a Savage 2, but they took the 'X' route instead.
Link. Savage X link is right on top. [link=http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htm]Savage X[/link]
Highlights-
- Lower profile chassis, drops tranny, engine and radio box 5mm!
- Redesigned radio box! They listened!
- Easy access gearbox to adjust the tranny
- Quick access diffs
- Lighter suspension arms
- Adjustable turnbuckles
- New shock towers
- 17mm hexes!
- Tuned pipe with removable cone
- New Nitro Star F4.1 Engine
- Roto Start
- New wheels, tires
- Nylon roll bar with 4 point head cage
- New body!
So, whos getting one?

RE: Official Savage X thread...
I just expanded my RC collection with two different classes I never had before 1/18 and 1/8th Monster Truck. I just bought a Savage SS for $200 and a Losi Mini T for $80 on RC Universe classifieds.

I don't know much about the Savage other then it being tough. I would like your opinions on the Savage SS 25. What are the differences from the RTR - SS 25 kit - SS 4.6 kit? Are they subtle changes or will all the parts be interchangeable? I am not really into Monster Trucks but I do know the Savage has a rep for being very tough and I am looking to see if I like it or not.

RE: Official Savage X thread...
Hi. I have had a Savage X for about a year and I am looking to upgrade my horsepower. I have been looking at the following engines:
-Sure fire .32
-OS .30vg
-Axial .28/.32
-HPI .28
If anyone that has any run time on any or all of these could give me a review and their opinion, that would be great!

Here's a site with some info.. [link]http://www.racernine.com/sts.html[/link]
and here's a short vid of the STS D28M (.28 version) in my 12lb, 10.7oz MGT running stock wheels (low traction) in loose gravel.. [link=http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l77/duckedup/RC%20pics/?action=view¤t=STSvid2.flv]here[/link]
STS has been around for a while, they just don't advertise like OS or any of the other big companies...

Ohhhhhh, that Mark!! You told me I should talk with "Mark" the other day when I mentioned needing a new engine, and it just didn't click in my head who you were talking about... yeah, he's a good guy.
