Default Team RCU Truck, Part one

ok well i decided to let you, the members of RCU, build my truck.

step 1. choose the truck, any truck, i have 1000.00 dollars.
step 2. choose the engine
step 3. suggestion on hop up parts
step 4. some one on here can paint my body
step 5. once done ill write up a review, keep up to date racing stats, pictures and videos.

Ok Step One. choose my truck.

i relize that there are REALLY no bad truck. all trucks have there high points and lows. IM ASKING YOU "WHAT TRUCK DO YOU WANT TO SEE GET DECKED OUT AND RACED." it can be a kit. idc. my overall model experence is expert i can tune and fix. it dont matter.

I would go with the T-Maxx just because the aftermarket options are endless. I know there are better Trucks for racing stock out of the box, but I would really love to see a radical T-Maxx in competition against some of the more quallified MT's on the market today. A T-Maxx setup strictly for racing! This would also make it a real interesting challenge! The old "has been" T-Maxx whooping up on the newer more advanced stuff!

T-Maxx 2.5
RPM used everywhere possible(Arms,Skids, Bulkhead Braces,shock towers,etc.)!
Robinson Racing Gears throughout( spur,tranny,differentials,etc.)!
Proline Bow Tie Tires/Rims
A Hot .21 engine
Titanium CVD's and Turnbuckles
Good Aluminum heavy duty bulkheads, and braces
Rollcage

One fun thing about the Maxx Trucks is that there are just so many options, and so many different ways to go. Would be fun to see the recommendations people would give for a Racing Max build, because there are tons of different products and manufacturers to choose from, and I would be curious to see peoples recommendations! It would also be fun watching you eat em up at the Track with an old "has been" max.

I agree! That'd be sweet! But.. a rollcage? For racing?

team-zero-star has written that he has a $1000 budget. $650 for an LST 2 would knock a heck of a chunk out of the budget and leave little room to work with in the way of upgrade suggestions! The T-Maxx on the other hand at $400 leaves $600 for upgrades, and room for people to make suggestions. team-zero-star could also add to his budget by selling off any stock parts that he is planning to replace. He would have no problems getting $90 or so out of the new 2.5 engine wich could go towards the purchase of a good Hot .21 in the $200-$250 price range. This would still leave him with about $450 in upgrades after a new engine is purchased. All the stock parts removed would also be worth a few bucks depending on what is replaced. I just see the most potential to build something fun in using the T-Maxx with a $1000 starting budget. If he just had $500 to spend, I would say just buy a revo, and worry about a few upgrades later, but since he is not constained so much by a tight budget, he has the potential to build a real cool Max Truck!

well actually i already have a tmaxx and a savage. so if i did the tmaxx i wuold have 1000.00 and i already was thinkin about upping my tmaxx. if you go into the traxxas forum theres a thread marked "I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP NOW" or sumthign like that. that thread contaned some ideas i had which included a dUEce preditor chassis and a gorrilla maxx G2 suspention with a sirio or tm or tz engine.

but this is just stage one so plz only write the name of the truck plz. thats all im askin for.

later one ill make a part 2, 3, 4, and 5 thread to put all the upgrades.

and on the body painting thermal was the first thing that came to my mind.

I have to ask, when was the last time the T Maxx won a major race?

Then I have to ask.. why do you think that is?

And I will have to add, LST may be pricey, but you get a REAL radio with it. If its a MT you are looking for, then IMO Revo or LST2 is your truck. If youre lookin for a Truggy then I cant comment, I dont like em and dont know a thing about them.

Yeah I'd say a Revo or LST2 if you want to stay as an MT. Truggy wise...The ThunderTiger ST-1 is what I have, but the Jammin is nice, you'll be spending over $1000 though to get it race ready.

LST !! the 2 comes with alot of the important upgrades already on it and the Engine should be good for racing. The revo's a good truck but it's not a LST.

At our track, the LST2 and modded Revo are a close battle. It is comming down to driving ability.

Uh.. right. Kinda sad to put $1,100 in a truck IMO. I only have about Leme see.. $600 flat for the truck RTR and about $130 for hop-ups and parts.

Thats $730. Not to mention you only have a few more things than I do...
