Default Got my xtm 247 today

I got my XTM 247 for my SAVAGE today, nwhobbies has this engine on sale, along with the XTM header and pipe. I also ordered a head (heat sink) from crazynutracing.com , that is about 1/3 larger than the stock head. This should help it stay cool. The new engine fit in here tight, but I didn't have to do any major mods. I will start to break this sucker in, in a few days. I will post reports. I'm hoping for on demand wheelies...HEHEHE.

Me, Crash and Burn and many more at Maxxland, Yes it is an awesome engine for the money. It will smoke ALL other engines in this price range. Well worth the money.

Default More Power for Savage21

XTM 247 installed along with XTM header and pipe. This engine is raddddd.. I had to delay my second gear shift point because this eng revs so fast, It was shifting into second just after the wheels stoped spinnig.... I'm still tweaking this monster... My goal is to get it to "Wheelie",, I thing I'm gonna have to change to rear shoks oil to a heavier wheight to keep it from squatting, but this will probably alter my awsome jumping and landing ability.

I will welcome any suggestions.

Default XTM 24.7

Yes, I also run the XTM 24.7 on my extend chasis conversion. I will say one thing THROTTLE MANAGEMENT is a must with this engine!

I have already gone through one set of rear diff gears with this truck/engine combo.

But there is nothing like the power you get with that engine. I also will be putting one on my Savage soon!

Default xtm247

Well, the weather here in MD has been bad. So I haven't had enought time to properly tune the new XTM in the Savage. I will tell you this much---- this engine generates so much torque and wheel speed off the line that it gets the wheels spinning, then shifts into second gear and takes off. I'm still trying to delay the second gear engagement. Outside in the wet pavement (no traction) this beast takes off lifting one of the front wheels off the ground... I will get this monster to wheelie..HEHEHE.
