RE: MGT or Savage X
What do you plan on doing with the RC, racing or general driving around? Are you looking for Nitro or electric?
There are several threads already of people debating which truck is better if you do a search for any of the vehicles you are looking at. As far as the MGT or Savage X, I can only speak for the MGT that I own. I really like it. It is very durable and does good on a track. I haven't seen a Savage X yet.

It'll be used for general driving (fun), too many things break when racing.
The Savage X is just coming available up here in Calgary alberta canada, but the MGT is going to be on sale in about a week.
I definetely want gas powered.

Personally Id avoid the Savvy X for now.
I have one and its been little else but trouble for me, many stripped spurs and now 2 failed diffs for me.
I havent even seen the MGT to comment however.

My Savage LE had a bad mesh from the factory also. I chalked it up to user error though and don't blame my truck. Now I know to check these things before I fire up my next truck.
For just bashing around, go for the Savage, no questions asked. I have a friend with the MGT 4.6 and it is a nice truck. But I don't think it's nearly as durable as my Savage. A nice feature on the MGT is a dual start system. You can pull start or use a rotostart. But the fake shock reservoirs look kind of crappy and they do absolutely nothing for the truck.
Just my opinion.

Yeah, they're fake. I cut them off of my MGT and flipped the shocks around so the cut part is facing inward. But the shocks are really smooth and do a good job on the truck.

Yeah, the powerstrokes is the way to go, but they are getting harder to find now that they are discontinued. Team Associated also has some aluminum shock caps that will work, but I haven't had a problem with the stock plastic caps...yet.

RE: MGT or Savage X
I have a buddy that has a MGT and been beating the crap out of it since Xmas, with minimal problems. Shock caps came off, setscrews on diff knuckle worked out loosing center shaft. Some crashes with broken parts, but that's normal.
He is on his 6 gallon of fuel.
He is happy with it and just bought another one.
I was going to buy one but decided on the Revo3.3.

I have both and prefer the mgt it has a longer wheelbase and its more stable in the air/rough stuff than the savy and just plain outhandles it and after you upgrade to rpm a -arms its very durable.

RE: MGT or Savage X
I also have a MGT and just love it.
Unfortunately i would not give it an " A" for durability because both upper and lower
a-arms snapped as well as a bent hinge pin in a not so hard hit. I was doing a fairly high
jump once and it landed great but one of the rear cv shafts snapped completely upon landing.
Despite these mishaps it is a great truck and there are hundreds of hopups for it.
I replaced the motor with an XTM 24.7 PRO and man does she fly.
