my hours have been horrible, and i wind up falling asleep when i get in after work.
Marshon, i got your message and 'll give you a call tomorrow hopefully.
maybe one of you can email me address to go look at the place.
i talk to my bobcat buddy. he didn't give me an exact price, you know when friends talk..."yeah, yeah, it won't be too much." but he did ask me the amount of days it'd be needed. he's a landscaper also, and a paver speacialists. so he is even more busy then i am.
(looking at the place i can tell hin one day.. 2)
in this field, the first and last month and 1/2 of the season are crazy! late paril, early may, things smooth out and slow down.
i really want to help and be a part of this, but i don't want to hold it up either

Isn't that always the case w/ buddies and biz....Adam, I'm gonna send you pics via email showing what's been done so far so you can get an idea. I'll also give you the address, just lemme know when you plan on going by so I can give my buddy a heads up. Chipper for a day from Home Depot runs about $250 and it's a mile or 2 away from the track and can be towed w/ my p/u. Whatdya think? I really want to get the whole area (150' x 100')cleared by end of next week. Track is gonna be BIG!!! [link=http://barnstormersrc.com/main.html]Barnstormers[/link] outdoor track is 160' x 60'....watch out world, BARCC IS COMIN'!!!

RE: Central NJ MT/Buggy racers
Yeah, I'm a stagehand for Local 21 and I work at the PAC....is Kenny your brother? PM me for the address as it's private property and I don't want people stopping by unannounced. I'm on a show run at the Papermill, so i'm only available in the mornings on the weekend until it ends April 9th. Hopefully I'm gonna meet FGA there tomorrow morning so he can take a look and give landscaping advice.
Yesterday I cleared an area for parking and felled some pretty f'in big trees!! Right now the area cleared for the track is 100' x 80', and expansion is still occuring. The width needs to expand another 50' to accomodate the drivers stand and pit row. The length will also extend another 50' so the back straight will allow 1/8 scales to breathe...whose engine has really got the balls? Sunday am (8 - 11am) I'll be there working on the expansion as well as Wed (8 - 4pm). Once all the trees are down, I'm gonna rent a wood chipper from Home Depot on Friday and will be there from 8 - 4:30pm. If anyone is available to make these 'work calls', please PM or respond so I can give you the address and directions. Friday will be an important day as I only want to rent the chipper for one day.
Pics will be forth coming....stay tuned!!!!

RE: Central NJ MT/Buggy racers
once again a landscaper that didn't show...what the #$%@ is with these guys??? And this guy had the nerve to call the other guys that didn't show 'scumbags' when he booked w/me on the phone Wednesday!! Oh well, glad I haven't waited for landscapers.
I've gotten committments from some fellow stagehands to help on Friday when I rent the chipper, but more guys would still help. Also, I spoke to a contractor about bringing in some clean dirt for fill...we'll see. My buddy says that it's no problem to form a wood chip pile so there won't be any need to haul the wood chips away. There are however piles of leaves that I'd like to remove so that the length of the track can be expanded.
If u can help please respond or PM me. Thanks, Marshon

OMG....is that your AIM username? I got there a little late today but got about 3 hrs of work done. The parking area is fully cleared. On Wednesday I'm gonna take the parking area down to dirt so I can have an area for the wood chips. Once I get it all chipped, I'll post panoramic pics.

i thought you were talking about me when i first saw the "#$%@ " in your thread, maybe you were?? but my name isn't Ed.
from the second week of march, til the 3rd week of april is nuts... like trying to speak personally to your accountant in april[X(]. i even worked today on sunday.
doesnt the NJ sanitation dept. haul away leaves if you leave them curbside?
as far as woodchips, there are 100's of useful things you could do with it. i would never get rid of them
fill like you were referring to, even if it slow degrades over time, i'd imagine you'd have to the track a "going over" every so often anyway.
could spread it in a "pit area" if its grassy/muddy area... (or parking area for our cars, i don't know the parking situation
could use it between turns (usaully where you see someone standing ready to turn a flipped truck back over).
general maintenance around the track to suppress weeds
you name it, i'd mulch it

hey FGA, no I wasn't talking 'bout you. Whenever you get a free moment call me. I need to pick your landscaping brain!!! So DO or DO NOT use chips for fill? General makeup of soil is very sandy. In order for my buddy to have a lawn, he had topsoil trucked in and dumped. Thought of using chips for parking area so non 4x4 vehicles don't spin tires in the sand and get stuck!! Any updates as far as the Bobcat? If all goes well I'd probably be lookin to rent/borrow one by w/e of April 22/23. Could possibly be the weekend b4, but I doubt it as my taxes still aren't done.

june-september are very slow (just routine maintenace), so you have to strike while the irons hot
anyway, i'm saying you could se them for fill, but you may be able to get fill for practically nothing dumped there, i mean fill soil. NJ has so many more resources then we have here, so i'm not totally familiar with what's availble.
how far are you from Old bridge area? i have a landscaping buddy who leaves near rt. 18/rt9 meet.. not far from the outback steakhouse over there. i'm going to to try and reach him in regaurds to fill availbility and pricing. i think we can get here for about $20 a yard. you should be cheaper out there.
if needed, i would use the mulch as fill... but if a cheap fill is available, then i would use the mulch more for weed suppression and over maintenace of the track. chips are nice to walk on, park on, pit on, etc, then wet grass, or mud... also softer to land on the hard packed dirt whn your ride "goes astray"
i'd use the fill for the "fill" you needed and mix it in with sandy soil '
you may even have access to clay soil out there.

adam, i know the outback your talkin' about and the track is maybe 20 min from there. I also completely understand gettin it while the gettin's good!! I'm really busy for the next 2 months, but my weekends should free up. If we could get clay soil that'd be great. How much area does a yard of fill cover? I like the idea of using the mulch/chips for cushion around the track and also for parking.

the amount needed, well, it should go a long way if we're simply raking into the existing soil on the track, and the surounding soil.. well who cares.
i am hoping my cleanup are done by the end of this week, and i can get out there to see this place, sounds awesome. (you have to hear some of these foul mouthed old ladies on my machine! "....r u cutting my grass or not???")
