Savage X VS. Savage 25 LE
OK, I was just on Ultimate Hobbies, and they have both the Savage X and Savage 25 LE set at the same price, $419.95. Which do you guys think is better the Savage X or the Savage 25 LE?

savage x, the engine is ported and polished and will be alot more powerful and more jumpy and the new chassis is kinda nice, but the improved roll bar and radio box is a god sent...

I just saw a few videos of the Savage 25. It looked pretty slow to me and I am actually looking for speed. I heard that the Savage X only goes 34mph. Is this true? Because I want a truck that can at least beat a snail, stock.

The Savage X would be better cuz it's kinda upgraded from when HPI came out with the 25LE, on your other poll it looks like its a close race BAMF. I would still go with the Savage X for overall duarbility just in case "accidents" happen.

Depends on what your plans are. If you're more than likely going to keep it close to factory, then the X would probably be more enjoyable. If alot of mods are planned however, the LE comes with more hop-up parts that will remain on the truck after you're finished with it. The three speed is more valuable than the easy access diffs and two speed, in my opinion. I really have no problem servicing or repairing my "old style" Savage. As long as you have the right tools and any amount of mechanical ability, the Savage isn't as hard to work on as some people make it out to be. If you're really wanting it to handle good for track duty, you'll be swapping to some better LCG TVPs anyway. The X has the better engine, but would you really plan on keeping that engine anyway? I'm a little skeptical about a two speed X being able to outrun the three speed LE, even though it has slightly more power. You'll probably be happy either way, I doubt there is much difference performance wise.

And what is everybodys facination with top speed? Who buys a 1/10 or 1/8 nitro truck for top speed!?

BAMF90, I suggest you don't get a Savage. You want a wing, speed, the Savy is just a BASH truck. Look at a Revo or a truggy for your style.

savage's can be made fast and agile..........but i dont prefer to have one like that. i have a race savvy and a bash savvy. the savage x is my bash savvy and its a sick truck. this new engine has loads of power. and the truck is still tough (sacrificed some strength in the arms). and the easy access stuff is so much more worth it then a 3-speed. when your outside and you say blow a spur or wanna adjust 1st-2nd on the 3-speed tranny, you dont wanna have o bring it inside for 15 mins to pull the engine out of take apart half the truck. this easy access stuff is awesome. i upgraded most of my race savvy (started as a 25) to savage x plastics. the new radio box is awesome too. and the new rollbar doesnt bend like the old one (i did that a few times). ive yet to try the 18t clutchbell but with the 15t the truck has some good top end. it depends where your driving the truck, if your in a wide open field you may be wanting more but in a backyard or a place that gives you about 100-200 feet of running room youll have all the speed youll want. this truck is also a wheelie monster, grab the throttle and the front tires go up.

What do Savages look like with a wing? Do they look queer, or does a wing make it look cooler?
