Default which savage would you choose and why?

Just visited a hobby shop, wondering what you guys would suggest.

[ul][*] savage x[*] savage 25[*] savage SS 4.6
[/ul]

Is it worth the extra money to get the SS (you have to get the controller with this one obv.).

IF I go with the SS, I was recommended to get either a Futaba T2PH or the JR XR21.

suggestions?

I say the savy le cause I have one and they come with dual disc brakes, 3 shoe clutch, 4gear diffs, tuned aluminum pipe, and the roto start1 not the roto start2 which(comes with the x and) seems to have a tendency to strip 1 specific gear I'm not sure which one though

I would go with the Savage X cuz of the new technology HPI put into it. It has more of an "ST" feel which makes it more versatile, and the X chassis design. I think HPI worked out the "knots" in the past Savages in the Savage X, I would go with the X.

No contest...a Savage X. The options parts on the LE or SS are nice to have but not absolutely necessary. The ease of maintenance is worth much more than a few performance upgrades. I like my SS 4.6, but I would have definitely sprung for the X if it had been available then.

i have the 25 and the X. the X has plenty of power, and lots of neat stuff. radio box, diffs, tranny, spur, turnbuckles, intake, chassis, wheel/tires (17mm), cam servo saver, 4 gear diffs, new body, new rollbar some cool extras in the box (as always 18t CB, halfback rollcage, exaust silencer). the X is so much better in almost every way in comparison to the 25. an X SS kit will be awesome

Just to make it clear, the SS is the version where you have to build it yourself. And the salesmen told me it has the better exhuast pipe.....correct?

So the SS is better in terms of parts and engine size etc, but it seems the X is easier to maintain?
