How much is too much for you? What is your ideal price for an 1/8 MT? Price include the truck itself only, Hopup and aftermarket parts are not included.
Just curious whats on everyone mind and how much $$$ everyonw is making

well since I paid 580 for my LST2, gotta figure Im in the 550-650 category. 650 and up would be WAY up, as the only truck higher than the LST2(retailing at even 650) is the FG or whatever, which is well over a grand.
but if you count aftermarket parts, Im running well into the 900's.
and I got my eye on that 8ight buggy, which is 600 sans engine/radio I believe. that'll probably be 900-1000 just to get it moving before I modify anything. Atleast I can share the radio from the LST, which helps rationalize some of that cost.

I've got close to $1700 in my LST, so I guess I am a little off your scale.

I've got somewhere close to $1500 in the Savage now, if you count the Spektrum DX3.
I bought my LST2 used for $400, and currently I've got about $550 in it. The plans I have for it should push it up to around $1100.

he meant brand new stock how much would you pay. i honestly wouldnt pay more then 500 unless its really really impressive, like it beat every other mt in everything and shot roman candles out its ass at the same time. that would be cool.

Really impressed with my LST2 for 800 (AUD), pretty impressive box stock just needs an engine brace.

for a decent stock unit, id say 400-900.. of course size depending. your not going to get to 1/6th or 1/5 scale until near 900 without tx/rx.
Traxxas MonsterBuggy. 700. needs electronics
HPI MBT5 buggy. not out yet. expect about 800-900.00 but is only a guess on my part.
FG Buggy 950.00 rtr
FG Beatle Buggy. 1100. rtr
3.3 Revo 500.00
3.3 Maxx 460.00
HPI Savage 450.00
Losi MT2 650.00
these are the apporximate prices ive seen in the last week.
mostly rtr. the 1/5ths get starting about 700.00-1100.
if i spend more than 550 on a stocker 1/8th, would be a LST2
but at that price, i ll go with a 1/5th gasser

I think the best 1/8th scales right now are the LST2 and the CEN Nemesis. Not including the FGs as I havent driven them. Is the MGT a 1/8? It's pretty nice too.
The LST2 and Nemesis are in the 500-700 range depending where you get them from.
I think 500-600 should be ballpark on decent 1/8 scales. These parts are produced for cheap and there is a big markup on pretty much all hobby stuff, but I think they keep the prices somewhat reasonable

If your just looking to bash 350 to 450. One thing you gotta remember, depending on where you live, if you buy it and are not into it you'll lose your ass. Prime exp: I have brand new ofna dominator with a sulliven tiger drive custom designed for the hyper motor, I addded a 2spd. The truck is brand new people would not even consider it for 300.00, same goes for used stadium trucks, now they were slightly used I asked 150. each rtr all had new bodies asked 150., no interest. Brand new ofna 95 mbx blinged out new never ran, carrying case asked 350. not a nibble. this was at a rc swap meet i was at.
you don't need the biggest or the best to enjoy the sport, something reliable yes. Remember if you go to sell them you'll lose big unless you have a savage, revo or tmaxx. Now they seem to hold value.
A few good rtrs for the range i mentioned tamiya TNX 309. ultimate hobbies, MGT 4.6 rtr 360. savage 400 to 450 depending where and which model.
Im not saying the big buck trucks are bad because they are really good, but unless you got money to burn something to consider.
good luck
