Default could this be an air leak?

i have a monster gt i just got a week and a half a go. when i first broke it in, it was runnin fine. then i changed my glow plug and everything was good, but now it seems like it just over heats every time i run it, and the temp gets up to about 307 degrees, and you can see smoke come from the cooling head sometimes. it also seems like it goes up and down in RPM's from time to time.

Default RE: could this be an air leak?

If smoke is coming from the cooling head then it is definately an air leak. The cooling head may not be properly tightened or there may be a bad seal between the glow plug washer & cooling head.
