I'm just getting back into RC after many many years away from it. Lots of cool Nitro stuff out there now. So....

In you're expert opinions, is it worth it to start out with one of those low priced deals on eBay? Or is it just going to be a pile of problems? Anyone have experience with one of these?

I need to get a Nitro Truck/Buggy soon as my Bro-in-law has challenged me and I will be roadtripping to the coast to take him on during a big family get together. Good excuse to get the wife to buy off on it anyway.... that and my twin 4yr old sons would dig it.

You might try asking in the Redcat Racing forum, both of those cars are made by them.

You made a much better choice. My real race cars tuner has an ebay special he detroyed and found I was into RC, asked me to fix it for him and he has spent so many nights up late with me on the dyno getting my car ready for a race I couldn't say no. It's the biggest pain to find parts for these things and they don't seem to act as they should. The Savage will serve you well just with ease and availability of parts.

Most of the companies making the knock-offs are only interested in selling finished goods (no parts availablity). Besides, when an R/C is named after a natural disaster, thats a red flag right there.

lol...i have a volcano and it works fine for me...but i'm a noob, i became a redcats dealer...i know to keep a bunch of parts in stock, especially clutches and spurgears...most of my customer base is local so it works out fine...redcats cars are alright for beginners, i like mine

Go to REDCAT forum. I personally own a Volcano and enjoy it. Just my opinion.
