If you are interested in building a gas powered t-maxx, check out this thread:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_28...tm.htm#2893529

It was started by DrHonda and is rather large, but has some great info and nice pictures of his build. He was going to do a kit, but he has been very busy lately. Check out the thread, he lists all the parts he buys and how he built it. Good luck with your build.

I know these arn't T-MAXX specific, but both should give you pointers and ideas to get you going.

This one is a 4stroke REVO
http://www.rcccs.com/index.php?showtopic=683

And a 4stroke LST
http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/s...d.php?t=223176

Hope they can be of some use.

OS makes some pretty good 4 stroke engines.

The biggest advantage to having a 4 stroke is the amount of torque you get from them. Which is awesome if you are bashing. The downside is they are not a very efficient engine. Meaning that *as an example* You will get much more top end power from a .21 2 stroke than you will from a .21 4 stroke.

Once again the torque is monster. You will also have to do some modifications to your tmaxx to get it to work properly.

A Saito 182.

Seriously, whatever you can afford and make fit. Cooling and gearing up for the RPM loss will be what you need to deal with.

Ok lets say this I buy this for my t-maxx- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJRW8&P=7
And got it installed with the stock 3 speed transmission. How fast do you think It'd go?
Would it Out pull a Stock Warhead?

Unless you're just into building/tweaking/modifying, it's a huge waste of time and energy.
Drop in a good big block (LRP, OS, etc), and you'll have plenty of torque and speed.
As soon as start modifying a machine beyond what it's engineered specifications are, you're in for a world of trouble.
Again though, if it's the building process that intriques you, then possibly it's worth it from that perspective.
Good luck.

The Revo is owned by Damon Palm, a local racer here in the PNW. He is attempting to make a kit for the OS 4 stroke. Let me tell you, that thing sounds AWESOME on the track! It really turns heads!
