i like my axial, never had a surefire. i thought they were rated about 4hp? guess it must have been a manufacturer claim? oh well, i still like it!

actualy axial uses that dyno page on their web page, axial goes by x dyno unlike most people, the .32 is 1.66hp, 76oz, the .28 is 1.46hp and 75oz and the .12 is 1hp and about 31oz. Their .12 is very fast and the .28 makes as much torque as the .32 earlier in the powerband and revs higher

I personally have had a MGT with the Axial 32 and was not impressed with it the top end was not there and the low end was good. When I geared it out I still was not happy. I went to a LRP z28 spec 3 and was blown away at what this thing could do. I have 16/46 gearing with it and 40 series tires and can keep up with a Nitro Rustler and actually pass it. Best of all it still wheelies!!! It was the easiest drop in i ever did it was in and running within 30 minutes. Just remember bigger isn't always better it is the quality of the product.

i was thinking the same thing. right now im debating on whether or not to drop in the lrp .28 or axial .28 into my mgt. but the good thing is, i dont think ill be able to do it for awhile so ive got plenty of time to think about it

Just like the Axial .32 is the same engine as the Surefire .32, the Axial .28 is the same as the HPI K4.6 HO from what I've been told. The LRP spec 2 and spec 3 .28s make alot more power.
**The LRP spec 2 isn't available anymore, but it's the same engine as the SH .28 Prospec, XTM 457, and the Nosram .28 Monster. I've never run the spec 3 but most people say it's not quite as snappy at lower rpm as the spec 2 but it pulls harder on the topend. I'm sure the spec 3 is the better engine for racing or a lightweight truck like a Revo or Tmaxx, but the spec 2 equivalent engines might be the better choice for a heavy basher. I have mine in a 10.25lb Savage and it's just crazy. You can't beat them when you consider the price.
