T-Maxx front ski kit
I posted this in the Traxxas forum, but I figured a lot of other trucks would have this...
I'm thinkin about gettin a ski kit for my maxx before winter, and I'm lookin for any pics or vids of others in action.
I'd like to hear some opinions on this mod. How do they handle, durability, etc. I've got a t-maxx 2.5, but it'll have a 3.3 in it by then. Would paddle tires be the only feasible tire option, or what?
Thanks for the help

RE: T-Maxx front ski kit
I'm not sure where the video I've seen is, but it looked pretty cool.. it was setup on a MGT and looked like the skis worked pretty well...
My guess is yes, Maxx size paddle tires would probably work the best for snow.. other than that, some really aggressive tires like the Losi Claws (LST/Aftershock tires) would probably work pretty good..
In the vid I saw, he was using stock MGT tires and they seemed to push it ok.. The Losi Claws are as tall and wider than the MGT tires and have much better tread..

I would think the skis wouldent make much of a difference. Instead of 4 wheels driving the car theres 2? I think 4 paddle tires is better then 2 and some skis.

[sm=50_50.gif]... The ski kit replaces the front tires lol.. I'm not sure stickin' 2 skis out front, with nothing controlling them would do any good..... they actually work pretty good, I'll try and find the vid and post it..

Thanks for the vids, duck. It seems to go pretty decent in the snow. I think the paddles would def. help the traction though. Plus it just looks sick too[8D]
I think this will definitly be one of my next purchases for the maxx, after the 3.3 and new servos.
