battery advice for a stampede - please
I'm looking to get into RC and am almost ready to purchase a Traxxas Stampede from towerhobbies. The Stampede seems to have a good following and lokks like a lot of fun. The tough part is selecting batteries / charger.
Please advise this newbie, should i go with NiMh:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXCTV8&P=M
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXCLD5&P=M
or NiCd(1800 w/ peak charger):
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXD548&P=M
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LA2080&P=1
Cost is definitely a factor, but runtime is very important to me. I also like that the NiMh doesn't need to be discharged. What kind of runtime should i expect (i want to buy two battery packs & don't expect to recharge during an "outing")
Any advice is appreciated.

well since cost is an issue, i would suggest a pair of sanyo or panasonic 1500 batteries, nimh are definitely better, but if u let them completely discharge in the car, u might damage them
also, if you wont be runnin ur stampede for awhile, u might wanna give the batteries a partial charge to keep them from droppin below a safe point
i have a stampede also, and it beat a rustler wit a p2k pro motor, the only mod. i had was a panasonic 3000 battery pack. My friend was pissed
