Anyone who owns a sf giga crusher Id like to hear about your experiences. This truck seems to be unpopular, but I think its a cool truck.

Haha.... Enter the Traxxas and HPI world....
Almost everyone will tell you,to avoid Kyosho unless your into 1/8 scale buggies and on road cars... And even though they are top of the line in regards to them alone, you are still only paying for the name when it comes down to it....
If you want a Monster that is vertualy imposible to find parts for,and hop-ups,not to menchen is compatible with practicly nothing as far as bolt-ons gos, such as wheels for a small example...
Then by all means get a Kyosho...

If you want to have fun with it,and want something that will last and hold value, and wont drop off the face of the planet...Then get a Savage or a Revo....
Personaly the Savage is definatly the best bang for your buck, not to menchen will plain eat every other moster out there when it comes to climbing and durability...
Ahh H E double hocky sticks.... Just buy a Savage! is what Im trying to say....
I have been into the hobbie since I was 11,and have tested just about every type of R/C out there, land and air,and Im speaking the truth on this topic... Do a little research and you will agree when all is said and done.... Dont ask jokers that have had one or two trucks, and dont ask the hobbie shop guy,as he will just try to sell you what ever eye candy you come across and will totaly disregard the truth for a sale opertunity... And thats only if he even knows anything about the products he sells to begin with....
You'll find alot of people talk alota BS... Just dont get hasty with this, and take your time with your selection, cause after all,no matter how you look at it.... Its not a cheap decision...
So I stress about taking your time...
The reason no one else is posting anything about this thread is because most feel the same way I do about this, just dont have the guts to speak the thruth in fear someone will flame about their opinion.... But I dont care, and I'll argue with the best of em.... Hope this helps, and plaease dont take me the wrong way, just blunt gets point across best...

You can say that again.

I say get what YOU want. I would check to make sure you can get parts, they all break eventually. In the end though, its you that is going to pay for it / drive it, so if that is what you want, go for it.

ok i've worked on them more than i care to mention[:'(]. they are CHEAP CRAP don't get one(even if it's free). now if you want a very good truck(the best in my opinion) get an lst2. just as strong as the savage handles better looks better and all the hopups you could want. you can race and bash it. in the end you get what you pay for.

Oh yeah,I dont know why I forgot the LST2...
Oh yeah.... Now I do... Its not really a monster truck... More like a Truggy, and its rediculous in price... Dont get me wrong...If your into racing you might wanna look into it,but hope you have your pockets full... Im not saying I havent owned quite a few Losi XXX-NT's and wouldnt recomend anything less in the stadium truck world, but as far as the whole LST thing goes,I think alot of people forgot why they even got into Monster trucks to begin with...
And dont even get me started on stupid truggys... hahaha Its like people arent content with things so much, that they have created an over sized mutant of a buggy just to try and get the results a 4x4 buggy already has out of a monster truck...
R/C revolution my a@@... More like R/C devolution...
When are jokers gonna learn not to start with a good thing, and turn it into an already refined existing product for way more $$$ than they would have invested if they would have just made the right purchace in the first place for their intentions... Nothing more than a fad, that will inevitably make the rest of the industry suffer from culture shock... Ohwell...
Im over it now....

ok baron tell us. why do people get into monster trucks?
LST2 not really a monster truck? now that's a joke. so what is a monster truck something that breaksdown everytime you use it or is it that it has to be really high and unstable?.

Ok,I'll answers your questions....
People get into monster trucks, for multiple reasons, one being true like most all other R/C is to reproduce an exact mini replica to simulate the real thing...for example such as the cool 3rd person point of view, and cost reasons...
So if thats true then why wouldlnt people want an R/C monster truck, not to look like a monster truck... Hmmm... Top heavy, and unstable??? True, but come to think about it,so are the real ones...
People in R/C wanting race track performance out of a monster truck, shoulda concidered a 4x4 buggy, which will eat it's shorts anyday on the most common tracks... I mean after all, since performance is what they want, then why settle for second best,at more cost...

Now,to the why I personally dont agree with the LST and ALL other pan chassis type trucks, being called "Monster Trucks" First off,the word monster truck is easly defined by,a truck that has been lifted, and heavily moddified to accept large amount of shock with extreme amounts of horse power, with rediculously large wheels... Notice how a real monster trucks cage frame design is made mostly veritcle... Webbed metal so to speak... The narower frame allows a better climbing ability"important to Monster Trucks",go figure... Not only is better at that, but it also makes the frame more of a cage that is much stronger than a poorly suported flat chassis... Personaly, its outa date,it doesnt work better for monster trucks, and their is a clearance issue... I think Id stick with whats proven...
I guess I just plain hate truggys, and will show no one any intrest in something pointless...
All its seems to do,is make the marketing for R/C vehichiles reach a certain rediculousness...
Its not cool for people to see an add brodcasting that the monster truck racing setup is obviously better than yours, because its faster... Might not seem like its relivant, but it definatly was to me once all my friends sold theirs about the time "enter the truggy age" came about...
Know why?... Cause all of a sudden, they all had to have the next best thing, and guess what...
A few bought em,and a few didnt... And all of a sudden it became lame to everyone, and not one stayed into R/C except me becuase of it... So there is your answers...
Oh yeah, heres a few real monster trucks to compare to the LST.. Then take a good look at the savage, which most resembles, and performs like a monster...And you wrong about the LST being even colse to as tough as the Savage... I know,I have ran them all...

I can't really comment on on the Giga Crushers, but I really like my Mad Force. With the Mad Force you're talking about a truck that barely weighs 9lbs, yet it comes stock with a .21 bigblock and three speed transmission. This thing will ride wheelies all day long and still hang with the newer trucks on the topend. You want "real" Monster truck? What more "MT" than solid axles, big fat balloon tires, and a verticle plate chassis design. As for the Savage... well, everyone here knows that I'm a huge Savage fan... but all it takes is one good look at a Mad Force and you realize where HPI got some of their ideas. How about those vented dual brakes? Kyosho did it first. Three speed transmission? Kyosho did it first. The Mad Force and the Savage use almost identical internal diff setups(gears, cups, etc..) and they both originally came with .21 engines and two spider gear diffs... but the Kyosho versions actually held together, and they were in a MUCH faster truck.

So cowboy, how many Kyoshos have you owned?
I havent owned but one,and it wasnt the truck, but I will never own a kyosho again...
Simply a rip off... I have however, been a local hobby shop specialist for a good while, and I have worked on and ran countless kyosho's just because I was paid to do so.... But never would I support their products, other than their inferno line of buggies... But I would tell a newby to get an offna over the kyosho anyday, for cost and parts avalibility reasons... Funny how this is the case of most hobby shops Ive ever been to.... Prolly because they to realize the bad marketing choice of selling a product that is no where near as popular as alot of the others are,and will remain...
Seems like if Kyosho was so great, then this would not be the case huh?...

I have not been here for awhile, Well cowboy good or bad I already bought the gigacrusher, a month ago. I don't run in the winter because plastic gets really brittle, and breaks easily, plus doing a good break in is much more difficult.

As far as owning the other truck? Savage? Yeah I own it, yeah I own the LST, yeah I own the MGT, the revo, the tnx, the ofna dominator, the tower terror, the gs storm sut, the kyosho usa truggy, xtm xfactor, the cen genesis.

My nearest hobby shop is 60 mile one way and they mostly stock traxxas, and losi parts, not to mention they gouge you when buy parts off of them!!

I do mail order on all parts and get them quickly enough.

So the kyosho is a risk, I'll find out myself if its junk.

Quick follow up. Cowboy, I take no offense to anyone, so its cool no problemo, well except for the new security guard at work today, but he was just doing his job. Im used to the old security crew, i got away with a lot, so did everyone else though!!! But lets see where was I, yeah everyone is entitled to thier opinions.

Just like real cars, ford, chevy, dodge, toyota, honda subaru etc. One guy will tell its junk the next guy will tell ya its great. I've bought so called lemons, that the only way they quit was totaling them out in a wreck, 130,000 miles. My last car 93 ford escort gt 208,000 on original motor tranny clutch. Tranny went by, by at 208,000. Life is a risk at best.

thanks for trying to help though!!!

oh and by the way cowboy all the pic's you posted have what?. a 4 link suspension. now what rc has a 4 link mmmmmmmmmm oh ya rock crawlers. try going fast and turning with that. think about the scale speed involved with rc. racing or bashing do you want to go and flip your truck EVERY single time you turn i think not. also your definition of a monster truck is just what the lst2 is.

hobby shop specialist now that's funny.

Well,anyhow good luck then silverman1...
And to fourwheels0.... Whats funny is not me being a shop tech, whats funny is your aparrent lack of knowledge to a 4 link... My Dad and I have a few real drag cars, they are really fast...guess what? They have four links... Nascar goes really fast, around turns... Guess what?... They have four links aswell...They dont flip over either Its all about the setup, and not the 4 links...As a matter of fact,4 links actually dont play a major roll in stablility at all, rather keep the axles from over torquing the housing, thus creating a better grip without the slop,as they also have incorperated by design to allow a more possitive shift over center of gravity upon launch...
The shocks, ride height and tire type, ect. is what gives you handling...
But since you know more than me about a cars dynamic structual schematics,we'll leave it at that...
And before I go,I have no idea where you get that the LST sounds closer to my description of what a monster truck is... I said Verticle, and Narrower... Nothing about a Sandwiched pan chassis like the LST has... If you ask me,I think Losi messed up on this design, since they made it this way to compete with the ruggedness of a Savage... Almost suceeded at coming close to the toughness, but used to much, instead of less, and added more wieght that should have been avoided... But my opinion on that ist really relivant to this thread, but there it is anyhow..

You guys truly are comparing apples to oranges here. There is no denying the fact that a rigid multi-link suspension is hands down the best setup when dealing with solid axles, like 1:1 MTs use, but most of the RC MTs use a IFS/IRS setup which is completely different with their solidly mounted diff housings. Each setup has distinct advantages depending on several different factors, and both of you are basically correct in what you are saying.

Wouldn't it be great to walk into a LHS and have the cowboy behind the counter as the 'shop specialist'.
